Guess the part of the speech commenting on how we can use this time to unite as Americans (like during 9/11) wasn't heard by some.

Anybody who is trying to spin a pessimistic view on this, even a slight one, please go away  You should celebrate this f@cker's death if you're a true American, period! And stop saying "big puzzle" this and "big picture" that. He was the god d@mn leader of Al Qaeda, our enemy. This isn't just a victory for America (but yes credit goes to America for getting the job done) it's a victory for the entire world. Bin Laden, and his movement, have wreaked havoc in many parts of the world and affected almost every nation. One less radical nut job in the world makes us all breath a little easier. This doesn't bring back the people killed in the 9/11 attacks, the embassy bombings, the suicide killings or soldiers from various nations killed in the wars started in the rat **** name, but it does give their loved ones a small measure of justice served. It's not nearly the staggering amount of Americans killed in the two wars but since Canada entered the Afghan war 155 Canadian military personal and 4 civilians have died in the Afghan war which is a direct result of Bin Laden's presence there. People around the world should rejoice this man's demise but remain vigilant for more crack pots like him.

that's the kind of thinking that costs us 1.5 trillion to fight these guys... thinking that there is a civil manner in which to kill people.

After a kill, our troops should act in dignified and businesslike manner, not like a bunch of wild animals. (at least while the cameras are on you) I'd love to see him swinging in a jumbo suet basket for the little birdies to snack on but.... it just isn't the thing to do.

.....i am not sure if this is a generation gap.....but now "Osama bin Laden" is a "MARTYR". A whole new level. He was for years forgotten.....not playing any part in military operations. Now he is in the forefront. His death should have been ignored. He should have faded into the BLACK HOLE>

...! We needed to prove that......?

    ...... What about the greater.......?

After what some people have been through over this... people need to vent. It wouldn't help to do some of the things that have been mentioned, but it would make a lot of people feel a lot better. Regardless to whether or not you think it is stooping to their levels.

come now, you have to admit that if we threw out the rule book, this would be much easier... I know it's unpopular, but draw a line... especially with civilian casualties... It's like playing a sport with a team who has no rules while playing by the rules yourself (and penalizing your teammates too).

anyway, let's not let this thread sink into an argument on wartime ethics

Whether or not this was smart, or if we will get blacklash from the terrorists is kind of irrelevant.. I think the people needed this.

edit: and I usually side with logic and reason... but if you look at the forums and what not, everyone is just so pleased right now over this.... the whole country is celebrating... we need a victory now and then.

So what do you think his last thought was right as the 650 gr tactical round penetrated his skull? The Barrett sniper rifle is a wonderful precision weapon and the 50 BMG round is one of John Brownings finest achievments. Thanks to our troops for the skill and courage to make this happen. America rocks!
