My 30 footers arrived yesterday. I will probably need to strip the ends to keep my wall mounted FXiA6's flush. I doubt spades would help since there is not much space.

Other than that, they look great and hope they will be an improvement over Mono bulk wire. We shall see.

Got mine today, $65.71 charge from UPS along with the $28.14 shipping charge. Total shipping to my door in Ontario, Canada was $93.85

    MIT shipping to Canada: $28.14
    UPS brokerage fee: $39.10
    HST:$21.53 (Goverment Sales Tax)

I knew it was going to cost more to get them here, I still think I got a great deal.

Thanks again "Keiko" for providing the link and passing this deal along to fellow forum members. Greatly appreciated.

Going to assemble them later today and try them out! I will give first impressions once hooked up and also later on in their burned in life

Hooked up the 2 rear 30fts, the 2 front left and right 12 fts and the center 10 ft. Put in a nice multi-channel SACD of Spyro Gyra "Original Cinema" and sat back.

I was not sure what to expect as I really liked the sound that I had with the Audioquest Type 4's.

Well these b stock MIT cables sold me! Very nice sound, airy and light, full of music, seems like there is more music playing then before! It has opened up more.

My 2 rear channels had 14 AWG wire running to them and not the Audioquest Type 4's that the front stage had. The rears have woke up a lot with the addition of the 30 ft MIT's. Whole new sound coming from them now.

Comparing the Audioquest Type 4's and the MIT's, I would say that the MIT's are livelier, fuller with more detail.

The Type 4's are very analog sounding, deep bass, nice mids but the highs seem to roll off and get lost on some recordings, especially jazz and blues. They did well with classic rock though.
With this light jazz recording I am listening to now, the Type 4's sounded a little muffled compared to the MIT EXp 2's. If you are at all familiar with Spyro Gyra, they use some steel drums and they sound outstanding with the new cables. Very impressed.

I am going to keep the MIT's on my set-up and will test the Blu-Ray movies out tomorrow and see how they cope.

Very satisfied with the MITs and I would purchase them again or recommend them to anyone.

I got mine Friday and just hooked them up. Not doing any real listening right now so I don't want to pass any judgment on these cables. Just thought I would mention that mine finally showed up.
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

John, I would love to make it down, but after this trip, I'll be so broke I won't be able to pay attention. If it wasn't for the wife getting a well deserved bonus, my vacation would be at the local water park for 3 days....no nights, just days.

Got mine last night. Haven't hooked them up but had them out long enough to realize that I should have ordered 12 footers. My right channel is gonna be tight.
Might be a stretch but anyone who is not anal about equal length cables (I'm not) be interested in trading a 10' for a 12'? I'd obviously pay the difference plus shipping for both.

    I've got a 15' I could trade for a 10' if you don't find a taker for a 12'.

Got mine in and all hooked up. The first thing I noticed was the quality when unpacking them. I wasn't blown away and i'd consider it ok at best. They felt cheap, trying to get the plastic sleeves over the banana plugs made the sheathing and cables move around a lot and I felt like I was going to break something. I'm happy for what i have invested, but if i'd spent $300 + on them i'd be disappointed to say the least.
I know it takes around 200 hours for break in, but I couldn't help myself and instantly set down and started listening. I was running Canare star quad S11 in a biwired configuration. I took the left over Canare wire and made jumpers, since I didn't want to go back to the stock ones. Initial impressions are that these are a nice sonic improvement over my last cables.
They seem smoother in the highs and mids, and added more detail. I noticed more detail in the midrange than anywhere else, and that was the first thing I noticed when I sat down. I'm by no means an audiophile nor do I have golden ears, but I know my music and can tell the difference. My system just seems a little less edgy and a little more neutral than it was before.
When I got my Signal Cable interconnects, as well as my Power cable I noticed the same thing in the highs and mids, and I wonder how much of my results have to do with overall better synergy. I can say this though, when I got my Rti8's I wasn't happy with them at all. They seemed bright and lacking bass, and after many different receivers, an amp, 3 pairs of interconnects, 3 power cables, and 4 sets of speaker cables i've got the sound i'm looking for. I can enjoy the detail they produce and listen to music on them quite often, and I always referred to them as a non musical speaker.
Overall i'm very happy with the speaker cables and can't wait for them to break in, thanks again for the heads up Keiko. Hope everyone else is enjoying theirs too!

Good to hear that you got them and have them hooked up. On a scale of 1 to 10 where do you rate your initial impression for sound?

I also received mine yesterday evening. However, I like the look and feel of the cables. To me they feel like a quality cable. They're not Shotguns, Magnums, or Oracles so they won't have that feel. I also was concerned when placing the boots over the banana connectors, but using a slow, steady pull I was able to get them on without any damage. I put them in the system and turned put in a Robert Cray CD to let them burn in. I didn't really listen, but I did notice a wider soundstage than my previous cables. We'll see in a week or so how they really hold up.

Btw, does anyone know where I can get screw on spades to replace the bananas at the speaker end? I sent an email to MIT when I ordered, but haven't heard anything.

I too considered the spades but they cost $30 dollars . Calculate that to outfit a pair of $50 cables

Audionerd USA sells them. I've bought from him before and he is very reliable and many times he ships same day.

$29/4 which since you need 8 is $60 if you want to do all ends in spades.

IIRC, if you buy direct from MIT they charge shipping.

I only plan on changing out the speaker end for spades. I don't think $30ish is bad. That's still less than $100 for a $200 set of cables.

I'm just curious, but what benefit do spades offer vs banana? Only thing I can imagine is that maybe the tension on the bananas might diminish over time. I've never used anything but bare wire, so banana was just a lot more convenient.

listening to mine right now in the office rig. I have to say they sound really nice, and I am just streaming pandora one through a cheap little creative usb dac. Very detailed and airy, and the upper bass/mid-bass definitely is tighter. Definitely worth the money; can't wait to try them out at home!

I've had mine running for 24 hours straight and they're opening up nicely from how they sounded out of the box. Same overall impression/improvement they just sound a little more open, still got a long time before they're truly "burned in" but i'm very satisfied with the way they sound right now.

Spades offer no sonic improvements but some like to just have them for having bookshelfs near the wall or they might prolong the life of the cables by taking some of the tension off the wire when its upspended by the banana connection

I still dont really want to offer any opinion on how my cables are sounding compared to my monoprice

As I suspected, I see no difference in my HT rig using these cables over the Canare 4s11, but I do see a major improvement in my two channel setup. I will definately be looking at cables as I improve my two channel rig.

The benefit as I see it is, the cables don't have to exit the amp or speakers in a straight line but can make an immediate 90degree turn downwards or sideways and there isn't the leverage on the binding posts that bananas w/heavy cable can exert. I have seen angled bananas but they weren't very high quality, IIRC.

In my case it makes adding jumpers to my speakers much easier. I can connect the cable from the amp to the binding post and them use a jumper with bananas to connect the two sets of binding posts. The sonic improvement isn't with the spades, but using a quality jumper cable versus the stock jumpers that came with the speakers.
