I am hoping for a nice improvement from my crappy homemade cables and cant wait to get my hands on them . Does the bananas you see in the add come bundled with them ?

I'm kinda getting tired of childish behaviour and un-opinioned thread de-railing .

One thing we all have PFB and that's the choice to not read it or be part of it.. You have the power to leave and or stay but it is a public forum and not everybody is going to see eye to eye or have a perfect day!!

    Best regards,

Yes they do along with the connector boots. Slide the boots on over the connector, slip them all the way up, screw the connector onto the leads and slide the boots down.

My question is about the burn in of the cables being around the 200 hours mark.

Is there a certain volume you have to put through them .Can I leave music on really low when I go to work and still give them the proper burn in ?

I'm not the one to ask either, but I Played(and still do) Loud when I go to work.I leave it on,with a burn in CD Playing... NO,WAF HERE.

What would be a good burn in cd ?

Is there any upgrades one can buy to replace the stock banana plugs ?

What I used, is The Sheffield/XLO Test & Burn-in CD... Don't know anything about stock banana plugs.

The stock bananas are quality electroplate, spring loaded. You should be fine.

The only way to replace them is to re-terminate the cable.

Just received my cables, and I must say that I would not have paid full retail for them based on their appearance. Underwhelming to say the least... very similar to my Canare wires in this regard. For the money spent however (75 bucks/20 footers) they look to be a good value. I will be plugging them in tonight when I get home from work.

you can buy spades for the cables if you need them. Thats the nice part of using the ICONN system. It will run you about 30 bucks or so for 4 of them from a dealer normally.

Well my cables arrived and I am excited to give them a try

I was not expecting much from these as far as appearances went but when I opened the very heavy box I was very surprised to see a quality made cable .I cant seem to find what the defect was ?

I was amazed how big the 40 foot cables were and I put them in the pic posted to show compared to a 10 ft

Agreed PFB... the cables are very well made, but the runs you and I have would have been $300 bucks plus and for that kind of coin at retail, there are other well made cables that are much nicer in terms of looks. But it is not about looks as it is the sound that counts.

Anyone know where I can get the nylon tube coverings for these? I want to combine two sets for bi-amping to the SDA's.

Check the arrows, they should be facing the wrong way. Other than that they should be perfect and still labeled "amp" and "speaker".

Man, mine are supposed to be delivered today, but it's 7 and I am getting sick of waiting here just to sign for them. I dunno what's worse, going shopping and missing them, or waiting here only to find out they aren't actually coming.

well, you were right. They just arrived.

Okay, am I the only one who had difficulty with those plastic cover things? I only installed two because it was so hard to slip them on.... is there a trick to this?

Anyhow, got them hooked up... no noticeable difference, but I've never used banana plugs, so that was mad convenient compared to my bare wire.

At least now that I have these I don't have to worry that my sound is being destroyed by my cheapo wire.

edit: man, just signed a few minutes ago and tracking is already updated online... that's fairly impressive

Slip the boots on over the banana, push it up till you see the bottom of the plug and screw on. Simply pull the boot down.

Mine went on real easy, but they sat in the hot car all day:tongue:

Initial listening impressions using my Maggies, Sunfire Tube Pre, Carver Silver 7t's and my Yamaha turntable show a nice improvement over the Monster Cable Ultraflat wire that were replaced. The soundstage is more natural in depth and width. Voices are clearer than before and there is a touch more bass from the little Maggies. I am pleased with the purchase, and for two channel listening, I can say that yes... cables matter. I must admit to being a bit more skeptical of the need for high end cables for HT use, and probably will not go further than this into cables for home theater use. For my two channel rig however... well lets just say that is another rabbit hole entirely.

There is a method to attach the plastic. First you should put the small side on then screw on the banana plugs .

Mine arrived today, but no time to try them out until next week.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
