My question is about the burn in of the cables being around the 200 hours mark.
Is there a certain volume you have to put through them .Can I leave music on really low when I go to work and still give them the proper burn in ? -

Try this one. It was in Gavin's email and I posted it in the original thread.

Thanks. It seems like they have two sites... on MIT Express... contact us is just a fill in this thing and send an email box, no number.
Called them... apparently they shipped the 7th, should arrive tomorrow. They just forgot to send me tracking info. -
Does anyone have a spare 10 footer after their purchases? I know a lot of you split a few pairs up and I might be looking to do the same.

As I stated, Everything Matters!!!!! It has been stated many times before, One either gets it or they don't....
One either goes deeper into the rabbit hole and see's for one self, or you don't...
Not everyone is going to hear a Big Bang with MIT cables. It has to do with everything your running around them.. (Gear!!!)

Look not trying to be rude but the whole reason I started this thread is because the other one got shut down because of stupid off topic arguing between people. Can you (Jinjuku) take it to PM or start another thread so it doesn't happen again.
All i'm concerned about is when everyone is receiving thier cables, their initial thoughts on the way the look/packaging, how they sound right out of the box, and what they think has changed after burn in later on.
Grimmace: I needed a 10ft center and can't find one either, i'll probably end up ordering a pair and selling one, if I do i'll let you know. -
You guys will do anything to flog up a thread.
Moderators.....please set up a bitching area in the special interest section.
So with a 200 hour burn in time, there shouldn't really be an "honest to no BS" review until at least next Thursday to get the full gist of what is going to happen. I will sit back and wait.Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
Jinjuku isn't trolling any more than TFLF was. Just to recap, this thread was about people wondering where their cables were and a couple of people asking for some early feedback. I wouldn't have posted my thoughts if I wasn't asked. I posted my honest first impressions. I know this is a topic of some controversy, but most of you weren't invited. So if jinjuku wants to put in his two cents even though it disagrees with the prevailing wisdom he has as much right to make his point as TFLF, keiko, and F1. All of y'all are trolling if you're not talking about where the cables you ordered last week are and your first thoughts on getting them.
I don't have any reason to trash the cables, I don't feel ripped off at all. If someone put a gun to my head and made me pick between old and new today, I'd pick the old, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna give up on the MIT's. I'm not gonna do Jinjuku's experiment either because I don't really care how they burn in, just where they end up. I'm happy to let them burn in and compare again later, but it shouldn't be a fight every time someone says something one way or the other about a set of wires. It should be possible for you to offer or defend an opinion without turning into children. -
Funny coming from someone that's suggested the whole burn in thing as snake oil.
How so? I didn't make a statement one way or the other. Unlike you I don't tell people what to hear.
If B Run is curious about burn in I simply posted a way to do so given what he has. So why do burned in cables always sound 'better' why can't they sound worse?
Again, any time you want to have a conversation/debate on the merits (that is no Ad Hominem attacks) the floor is open. -

Well said. -
Sorry for my part in messing up the thread B Run. I get pissed at that when it happens to me, so I guess I should have created a newpost/thread with my so called attempt at humour over the cable debate and how most threads on here end up arguing.
-
BTW, mine will be here today.

You could always use one cable on a center channel. Get 200+ hours use out of it and then put both on your mains, swap and see if you can follow the bouncing ball.
Look, I am not taking sides here because I really don't care, but your post above looks like something along the lines of poking-the-lion-through-the-cage...
Come on, "follow the bouncing ball"? Tell me that couldn't have been left out of your suggestion without it losing its meaning? I had a feeling this was heading downhill when I first saw this thread this morning, and sure enough, 3 hours later and look where it's gone.
*climbs out of the sandbox before the cats jump back in* :biggrin:So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

If anyone cares I just called MIT (great customer service btw). Mine was shipping out tomorrow and I wanted to add another pair to combine shipping costs since I needed a center channel cable. They sold me a single cable for $24 and added it to my order! Great people to work with, can't wait to get them in.

No Lion poking going on. The fact of the matter is if cable burn in is going to make a difference of a large enough audible nature (whether it be bandwidth, imaging, separation, clarity, depth, sound stage) then EMPIRICALLY you should have no problem tracking with your ears the change. That is follow the bouncing ball.
I can just as easily flip the 'poking-the-lion-through-the-cage' on the reciprocal and say people read too much into a single sentence. I didn't intimate anything in that post. It was a neutral statement.
Look: It doesn't matter because as SOME POINT everyone will be listening to burned in cables (that is if you intend to leave them in). -
mine should be here today or tomorrow I think. Honestly they will probably just sit in the closet for awhile. I had the EXP3's for awhile and liked them but were close to the Signal Ultras I was using at that time.
These are step up and figured would work great for a 2nd two channel set up/HT I was going to be putting together in a bit. But I will play them on the Carvers for awhile. -

Get Bent!!!
You missed my point... I wasn't saying you were trolling, I was saying jinjuku wasn't.
I'm just saying everyone needs to take F1's advice and relax for the next 200 hours.
EDIT: thanks CWV, was replying at the same time... yes, that's what I meant. -
Gotta disagree, as polrbehr pointed out. And I've made mine already. That post was meant to instigate, period.
Can I add to the commentary?
I love my lamp cord speaker cables, they work the best, and if its not Monster its Crap.....responses GO!
JK.........
Actually hoping they dont run out before I get my bonus so I can get 2 sets for my front three...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -

If you call instead of order online they'll let you do a 1 1/2 order so you don't have to buy 2 pairs. I ordered all 10ft and Lisa said she had to check because she thought they were all sold out, they weren't but I know they've been flying off the shelf and won't last long. Just a heads up. -
Look I already asked once, take it to PM or make your own thread and feel free to s@#t all over it. I appreciate everyone on here who's contributed and i don't care who started it and who's fault it is, if you respond to it all you're doing is fueling the fire. Thanks again for everyone who is actually responding to the topic and adding any constructive input.

Just signed for my cables and putting the bananas on now.
-
Nice! I'm jealous mine don't ship out until tomorrow.
-
I receive mine tomorrow.
Now i only need a pre, an amp, speakers, and someone to pay my electrical bill so i can play with them :cool:Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -

Might as well get a new house with dedicated listening room while your at it  -
Looking forward to hear more first impressions. I am really curious if they are going to sound better than the Audioquest Type 4's I am using now.
What I like about the Type 4 is that they have a really nice analog sound to them. Dampened the highs but did not get rid of or weaken them, also enhanced the mid/bass out more.
Will see what the MIT's do, once they arrive. -
Keep us posted on how they compare. I'm hoping for a nice improvement because I was using an entry level cheap wire to start with, it's harder when you already have decent/nice cables to start with.

Already have that but currently it's full of joint compound buckets and primer....:cool:Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -

I am hoping for a nice improvement from my crappy homemade cables and cant wait to get my hands on them . Does the bananas you see in the add come bundled with them ?
I'm kinda getting tired of childish behaviour and un-opinioned thread de-railing .
