My boards were received today, safe and secure. Many thanks for the efforts you put forth. I have most of the parts and am planning to do the x-overs, rings and dynamat all in one project. All I need is the time. Many thanks.

Mine showed up Yesterday as well. They look great! I won't be updating mine until I have all the parts. I sure wish there were some cheap inductor options. I would love to have a drop in replacement.

    Thanks GP!

    Got mine today.

The effort Tony put into these really shows. The quality of the boards, the instructions on his website and the opportunity to truly upgrade some twenty year old speakers is a chance that these model SDA owners cannot miss. If anyone is undecided as to getting a set of these, you better not wait too long or the chance may pass you by.

    Great job.

Thank you all for your kind words, much appreciated!

    cincycat13: Two things.

    1. Don't forget to put a jumper in J4 under that 12uF (C6) cap.
    2. If I was you I would zip tie those caps down and if there not soldered in yet I would put a strip of foam tape under them.

BTW: Nice job so far. They do look nice with those white sconicaps.

These boards are just that my friend, simply perfect. Your efforts to make them of a quality that rivals the original manufacturer shows in every way. It cannot be said enough... Well Done!

Thank you, but are you implying that I'm anally retentive (you wouldn't be the first).:wink: This whole thing is giving me an idea  will have to see how these sell first.

And speaking about selling things apparently PayPal is starting to catch on to the "Gift" thing here's a snippet from an e-mail I got from them yesterday.
We're not sure if you are aware of this, but we noticed that some of
your customers are sending you personal payments for purchases.
Unfortunately, this violates our rules, and we need your help correcting
this. Please don't ask or allow your customers to use personal payments
    to pay for their purchases.

If we continue to see such activity after 05/03/2011, we may have to
disable your ability to receive personal payments, and then you will pay
fees for all money received through PayPal.

You guys don't have to worry about it, I just thought I'd let you know and I'll just eat the fee's

^^^^^^^ Pardon my french, but that's bull$#!+ and one of the reasons I hate PayPal. <rant> Since I used a credit card, they already charged me an extra 3% to send the money as a "gift". If they decide retroactively they can charge you another 3% because they see too many gifts coming through that's just wrong. Mostly I'm cranky at all the folks who bitched and moaned for multiple pages on this thread when you wanted to use money orders in the first place. Sometimes there are good reasons for wanting to go with the devil you know even if it means someone has to actually (gasp) get in their car. </rant>

On a lighter note, I got the new boards with all their fat white caps in my 2B TL's yesterday, and I couldn't be happier! Your boards made this so easy, in fact, on the 2B's they look almost naked. I wanted to solder on extra caps just for show. Seriously, these things are great. They made the upgrade so much more pleasant than trying to cram everything on those stock boards would have been. Thanks again!!!!

Just thought I'd post up a couple of pics of what the boards look like after assembly for 2B TLs. The boards themselves are a godsend (if Tony isn't a Polk God, he's at least the Pope of Polk ), but the website (gimpod.com) just takes all the guesswork out of it. The parts placement flyover graphic is cool, but the schematics go way above and beyond in calling out parts placement as well. So, when all is said and done, here's what they look like. Please don't tell me if I installed my caps backwards... too late to turn back now.

    Boards still available.

Good job love the red jumpers . Just one thing if I was you I would rethink using the original standoffs and go with the new mounting hardware suggested, the original standoffs just won't get the job done and with the new hardware those boards aren't going to be going anywhere. Just my $0.02.

LOL... little bit embarrassed about that. I got the new recommended hardware and couldn't figure out how to attach it. The inductors are wound so close to the mounting holes that the nylon nuts definitely won't fit on the inductor side, and after everything was soldered on to the board I didn't think I could wrench the nut between the 20uF cap and the L2 inductor onto the standoff. It didn't occur to me to just hold that nut still and turn the standoff into it because I am an idiot.

But, that big, natural nylon wire tie running between the 12 and the 20 is threaded through some holes in the inductor's plactic spool near the glued in retaining nut. There's no way those boards could come off stock standoffs without cutting it, but if the speakers ever have to travel I probably will install the better hardware.

So, yeah, definitely no one should take a lesson from my hack inductor mounting, but some 1/16" heat shrink did work well for jumper insulation. Probably only needed in this case for the E-H jumper as you recommend on your site, but it looked good enough I did 'em all that way.

Gimpod(Anthony) sent me a pair of boards for the SDA CRS+ to check out....evaluate I guess and I have to say without question, he's doing outstanding work. The boards are setup very nicely and clearly have had a lot of thought and preparation put into them. The actual traces appear to be well done, since they are sealed properly and the labels are crisp and easy to read.

This is a must do upgrade for anyone serious about bringing their vintage Polk loudspeakers to the next level. This opinion is not a company endorsement, just one from someone who knows a lot about Polk Audio and I've been involved behind the scenes for many years. Coupled with the well documented posts from our active, crazy about all things Polk, users....I think you get the idea.

    A+

I dropped off the PCB to the Engineering department at Polk Anthony. Don't expect an immediate answer but they are in-house now. Give them some time to play around.

They'll probably never see the light of day again. The answer I'm hoping not to get is a Cease and Desist order.

    Still have boards available.

I just placed my order with Tony! Thanks for the smooth transaction. Your personal contributions to the development of these larger crossover boards is a significant benefit to all SDA enthusiasts. I've done three crossover mods on SDAs and they have all been interesting. The SRS SDA 2.3 was a very tight fit with capacitors over and under the board. It looked kind of like a modern artist's geometric shape study. "Flying Cylinder's around the Landing Board". Something you might see in the background of "Bladerunner"

    Thanks again Tony!
