I blame Canada for ALLLLL of it!
If they could keep their "winds", "systems" and "weather events" to theirselves, non of this would have happened!
If they ever get the internet, we are all in trouble!

If you really want to know - this storm came from Texas!!

I'll snail mail you some snow if you want. We only got about 6-7 inches overnight, and it has been lightly snowing all day. We are going tobogganing tomorrow in the park, which is beside our igloo.

We live N.E. of Kansas City...One of the worst storms I've seen in a long while,13"-15" of blowing snow with major drifts...last snow like this was Dec.31 1978.

So far, boys, this has been a bit of a bust up in Maine? It continues to snow but the accumulations are NOT that impressive...just as I suspected, Canadian cold air is pushing and shoving this thing to the southeast?

On the other hand, we have relatives in Chicago who are taking a beating!

How about P. Phil and no shadow? Early spring or not?

They had to cancell Woodstock Willie (the groundhog) appearance because of the bad weather. Woodstock's Groundhog Day committee was in tears. Don't know if we will have a early spring or not:confused:

left work early to avoid the long drive home expecting to have issues getting in the driveway...only to see my dad had come over to clean it! I was happy that it was done and appreciated it very much, but I also wanted to play with my toy!

    Day 2 in captivity.

Most school districts just announced closure tomorrow. I think all large districts are closed including Dallas ISD which is significant because they rarely close. Other schools look to DISD to determine if they will close.

Tomorrow's weather will be a repeat of today. Friday's forcast is 1" of snow (50%). We won't be above freezing until Saturday. We're just not equipted or prepared for this many days of ice and sub-freezing temps. For example.

We got back from a nearby restaurant (severe case of house-a-tosis). On the way there, we were at an intersection with 1 vehicle in front. Light turned green. Car in front was going about 10 mph and so was I. A large truck to the right showed up and waited to merge into our lane. The driver was quite animated because we were so slow. As soon as I passed him, he demonstrated how silly we were driving so slowly by slamming on his gas but unintentionally spunned out. The two vehicles behind me passed him up before he finally and slowly merged on. Quite comical but it shows the dangers of driving here.

I know you guys getting pounded by 24" of snow and sleet are laughing at us but we're just not capable of handling this type of weather. At least it'll be above freezing in time for the Super Bowl. Next week, more snow (Mon + Wed).
