    Anxiously awaiting a review.

These are the same masters used in 2008, plenty of reviews out there.

Okay.. I ordered it as well.
I already have the box set The Complete Studio Recordings.
I hope this on is an improvement.
I am anxious to see the first reviews posted as we get our sets.

Yes, the deal was free shipping in the USA and it cost me $3.69 for SW Ontario, Canada. Not sure about the rest of the provinces or world.

I have all the original release cd's, the ones pressed in Germany by WEA. In many cases I bought them the day they were released back in the 80's. I have Led Zep I and PG which I believe are the '08 remasters. LZ I sounds pretty good, but I don't really care for the way they mastered PG.

I primarily bought this for the cool packaging and unfortuneatly the original releases have their issues as well as these (I would assume). Those original releases were very rushed and a few of the cd's weren't even pressed from the original masters as they couldn't locate them at the time. They were basically copied "as is" from the master tapes.

We'll have to see how it all turns out, but I'm thrilled to own this either way. I listen almost exclusively to my favorite bootlegs vs. studio Zep most of the time anyway.

Got mine yesterday - ordered on 1/15.

Packaging is impressive, but the adhesive plastic sleeves around the cardboard inserts are annoying and likely to tear.

Anyone know where you can get a replacement plastic sleeve for these cardboard LP replicas that doesn't have adhesive?

Yeah, I hear ya. People in WI and Doug (who doesn't live that far from me maybe 15 miles) got theirs yesterday and I didn't get mine until today. USPS is pretty inconsistent.

Hopefully you'll get it tomorrow or Monday

Got mine open and all the discs say "Made In Japan" with a copyright date of 1994. This leads me to believe they are from the original remasters, not the 2008 remasters

Brock, they are the 2008 remasters. Rhino lists them as "Released on 11/09/2007", but even that is wrong. It should be 11/09/2008 as they were released for the 40th anniversary.

edit: it's the same set that Amazon sells, dated 11/11/08. http://www.amazon.com/Definitive-Collection-Mini-LP-Replica/dp/B001FSDP08/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294939185&sr=8-1

I know Jesse, but then why would they stamp the disc's and OBI strips 1994? Just because they were released around the time of the last remaster doesn't necessarily mean they are those. I'm not doubting your assertions, I'll just listen and compare and see if I can tell.

There is no good reason for them to use the 1994 date on the discs and OBI strips if there were the latest remasters. 1994 would hav coincided with the release of The Complete Studio Sessions which was an updated remaster of the entire catalog. The outer box that holds all the cd's says it was produced in 2008 which would be the 40th anniversary. All the research I've done and nothing is conclusive.

After reading the links that Rich posted, I'm not sure what year they are anymore.

For S&G, I looked at one of the mini LP Japanese LZ CD's that I already have. The only date on that one is 1971.:confused:
