Guess what, it works. The sibilance got better, not gone entirely on the worst recordings, but better. I'll make up some new jumpers anyway, because I want to see what that will do. I'll post back after I've done that.

update: i'm for the most part very pleased with the results when I reinstalled the jumpers back on the RT800i's. tamed the high harshness and made my CD music enjoyable again I'm still going to tweak here and there to get the best sound I can before I spend any more money. BUt the thougth of having a nice tube CD player is weighing heavely on my mind lately. Oh yeah!PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
