    * Marantz SA-KI Pearl SACD/CD player (I think Doug's Marantz will work very nicely, so up to him if he wants to do a comparison)

Component I need to be bribed/cajoled to bring (beer helps!):
    * Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated Amp

I don't think I have anything to offer as bribes, but if you are willing and able to bring these two pieces I would be particularly happy to have a chance to listen to them. The more CDPs for comparison, the better. Up to you of course.

I'm hoping I get my SACD copy of Stevie Ray Vaughan's "In Step" before the next meet.

    Same here! :D

I did end up ordering the redbook copy of "In Step" used for $.97 off of Amazon so that we'd have multiple copies for CDP comparisons. I also got Bryan Ferry's Boys and Girls. Still need to get DSOTM.

I have the following concert DVDs:

    Pat Metheny Group (several)
The Eagles Hell Freezes Over DTS
Los Lonley Boys Live In Austin
Sting - Brand New Day Tour
    Norah Jones
Dave Koz (SQ leaves a lot to be desired)

Pro amps work out much better than plate amps for those building their own subs.

Why are you looking for a DIY if I may ask? ;)

I was using the QSC for a DIY sub I built, but I'm looking to try new things. Just wondering if there was any interest at all in it. :)

I'm guessing he didn't post them up for sale on a thread.

Think it was mentioned though when Doug posted a thread regarding in-wall speakers. Correct me if I'm wrong?

They're timbre-matched to the old RT series (before RTiA and RTi series) - http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/recent/fx1000/

Always loved the CS400 and CS350LS center channels from that series (as well as LS70/90's), but not too much the powered subs that were in the RT1000P's I used to own.

Well, I'm coming from Salinas (bringing my cousin along).

I'd say sounds like a plan but I want to take my car specifically since Mole' wants to take a look at it ;)

It's up to you+Mole'+my cousin cause I'm leaving a day or more beforehand because I'll be staying at his house before going to Doug's the day after.

The 2 pairs of FX1000's are committed currently to Steelo which is one of the reasons why I haven't posted them in the FS section.

Just got a PM from another forum member and it looks like we'll need yet another steak.... I honestly have lost track of the 'additional non-forum member guests'. Those of you bringing an additional guest, please remind me. I think we were at 13 steaks the last time I checked....

There seem to be slight differences between the vintage RT series tweeters and the new RTi tweeter. I can't quite put my finger on it yet. We can actually try an experiment out when you guys are here because the in-wall's I'm using for the HT are the new RTi series TCi-265's which have the same tweeters as the regular RTi series tower speakers and those will be in the system with the SRT's which have the vintage RT series tweeters.

I'm thinking that SACD Pink Floyd DSOTM would give us a very good indication of whether they are adequately timbre matched or not.

I'm not a big meat eater, so assuming there will be plenty of other types of food brought by attendees and available, I will probably decline a steak (i.e. one less for Mole' to pick up). As the date approaches and we get a food list going I'll confirm for sure.

If dpowell does sell his Black fx1000's, then I will sell my pair of Rosewood fx1000's. I would rate these speakers 7/10 in condition...mostly because there is a slight depression on the top of 1 of the speakers. For that reason alone I would sell them for $350. Other than the 1 blemish they are in prefect working condition. (just to keep things in perspective, dpowell is selling his for $450. a pair)

    polkrt5000fx1000blemish.th.jpg

I would rather have my whole set-up in Black, so that's why I want to buy dpowell's instead of keeping the 1 set in Rosewood I have now.
So...If anyone else besides mole' is interested I'll bring them to the meet & you can test them there.

If you guys want I could post some more pics.....
