Just messin'. SVS demo is at my house on the 13th.

YES! Glued the spiders back in place and the sub is performing beautifully. Those spiders are a bit brittle around the edges. :frown: Man oh man that system sounds good now, especially after spending some serious hours fine tuning it last week. The room is so different than what the system was in before. Bass behaves so differently and I was getting really frustrated trying to get a synergy where it sounded well-blended but still had a punch. I think I'm pretty close. Still got some strange ground-loop issues I'm looking into.....

Hoping you guys can help a bit with some fine tuning. It's hard to make adjustments on the control center and get a feel for what's happening real time 20 feet back.

I also installed a brand new quad of Ei EL34 tubes in the Anthem and am breaking them in now for the meet. Initial impressions are that music has much more detail than with the stock tubes but that these aren't quite as forward sounding. I look forward to hearing your impressions.

should i bring my Epik sub along? i can put it in Freddys PT

Honestly, I don't want to step on senior member's toes which is why I labeled this thread Polkie Gathering rather than Polkfest. I've read the discussion in the other 2011 Polkfest location thread and I'm staying clear of pushing for something that isn't on their radar yet. It's clear there are strong feelings about it and while I stand by my offer to host a PF some year, I'm waiting for those who are regular attendees of such an event to request the West Coast venue at this point. We've got our own gathering and it will be a blast. Wheter it's an official Polkfest or not is neither here nor there to me.

    9 days to go.....!

    OK I am officially in.
Looks like some home made baked beans might be needed, so I'll make up some.
I have DSOTM on SACD as well, (3oth Vinyl too) Is there going to be a turntable (I could bring mine if anybody wants its a Denon DP-29f)? I plan on bringing all of my SACD's and DVDA's (which is only a few).

If anyone wants to carpool I am coming from the SFV area & just staying the day?
Looks like Kawizx9r is coming day before.

Oh well off to see Metallica in Santa Monica tonight!

Great! Glad you can make it. Glad you're brining a lot of CDs. No Turntable or vinyl at my place but you can bring if you want. We already have tons of gear so I'm not sure we'd have time to give it a fair shot. Baked beans sound great. I was going to suggest them.

Just a headsup (might be jumping the gun but I'll be short on $$$ and it depends how fast shipping is/etc) I might not be able to make it to the gathering.

Got some car issues (ECU+SKIM) after trying to tune my vehicle.

Mole' knows the details. Anyway I hope it gets sorted out quickly, since my vehicle is completely out of commission in the meantime. :frown::frown::frown:

    Sorry guys.

I sure hope so, it's not just the fact that I will or will not be able to get to the GTG...it's the fact that I can't drive my vehicle at all. My GT is equipped with the SKIM option, which is a security feature that disables the car completely from being turned on/etc.

    Hope so too.

In case they can't, I might just send back the DSP to recoup my funds and put that torwards whatever it'll cost to either reset or replace whatever needs to be done. I'd wait for a Stage 1 but I can't go that long without a vehicle.

In the end, I'm out possibly 300-500 bucks for absolutely NOTHING!

Like I said, I might be jumping the gun (since I still need to call Diablo tomorrow) but if that's the case...that's money I'd just hate to toss for an issue that shouldn't have even occurred :frown:

Don't feel bad at all, I guess I should just get a Stage 1 when the time comes. I'll steer away from the DSP but will go a different route with things.

I read more into it and found out the SKIM is optional. Probably why people haven't had problems with being locked out/etc.

This car has every option available, and retailed for $38k. Even has the side airbags/sunroof/moonroof/premium stereo (which I replaced)/all leather/motorized driver seat/etc. the works.

After this is taken care of. I'll see where I stand, and will just have to get the downpipe and few other things slowly. Then I'll swing on by your place at a later date

Don't worry, I still plan on hitting the track later on with this car...after it's all done up. Remember? I need to make it a GTS Killer

I have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the problems you're having but I hope you get them worked out in time! If you don't end up making it and want to fedex that 1000ES down, I can get you some funds.

Doug, long story short...because my tuner failed to work on my cars PCM, the SKIM (security feature) was engaged which prevents my car from being turned on AT ALL.

So in the meantime, I have no means of transportation at all.

Hey Mole', I'm keeping the thread on PTCrew updated since the other forum has members that don't even know how to change their own spark plugs.

So far, I've got to wait until 1-2 PM our time (they said 430-5 EST) for my Calltag to be emailed to me so I can ship out my DSP+PCM. It's in the box packaged and ready to go as I type. Just have to wait now...

    .

    You can change those?
I had a similar issue with My 300C.
1 key (mine) for some reason stopped registering with the security, the car would start and turn off in 5 seconds. I thought it was the fuel pump going out again.
I got the back seat out and was looking into how to get the pump out and stumbled across the security issue online. Tried my wife's key and it works fine.
Not that this helps you in any way. But hopefully you can get it done in time.

    Yeah after all this troubleshooting and talking to a bunch of guys on the PT Forums (some on phone) as well as Mole, the vendor of my tuner AND the manufacturer of my tuner we all came to the possible conclusion that;

    A. The tuner was faulty, therefore my tuner+PCM will be reflashed free of charge

    B. If the reflashed PCM is unable to start my car, I'll have to get the vehicle towed to the dealership and re-keyed or something. My car uses the 'grey' key.

Thing is, instead of my car turning on then shutting off...when the key is inserted and put in the on position it goes through some self-test/check. Because it fails (the red LED on my far left gauge stays on), I am unable to start the car at all.

my guess is a glitch in the software/firmware on the DSP and or the cables being used.
