Seems like a great price on an ES player. Don't really need one but at that price.....Freddy, did you say they had one more at your store?

I don't plan on using it until I get a receiver so it'll sit BNIB unless you guys want me to bring it so we can compare it as a dedicated CDP. Let me know guys!

Either that or compare it to the Oppo BDP-83. The way my HT is configured, it would be very easy to set it up for switching between the players to compre video output, etc. We'd need identicaly test discs though.

They had 2, but because I was talking audio with the sales associate the customer overheard me talking about the player being mentioned on a forum and so forth so he decided to buy it.

I'll bring it along in that case. I don't need it actually, so if anyone's interested I'll let you guys have it for the same price I paid. Would be nice to see how it stands out.

From what I've been reading, load times are quicker than conventional players (faster than the Pioneer BDP's) and picture quality is PHENOMINAL! Doesn't have special DACs so I doubt 2-channel will be all that great but who knows? It IS an ES player. We'll see once we compare it :D

Hehe funny you mention that, I was directed to a few threads on other forums when I did a search and in terms of PQ it surpasses that of the PS3.

I may be interested in it if you're going to let it go for that price since I was planning to put a DVD player into the 2-channel rig anyway. I currently just have TV hoolked up.

I have an Oppo BDP-83 so if you were so inclined, we could do a shootout there.....if there's time.

BTW, I'm fixing up a pair of Polk RTA-15TL's that I may sell if anyone is interested. Haven't settled on a price as of yet. I'm replacing one of the SL3000 tweeters and one of the speaker binding posts.

Yeah I wouldn't mind. And if you'd want it, I'll let it go for the same price but if decide not to it'd still be nice to see how it compares to another bluray player or two.

Congrats again on those RTA's, I'll pass though :p

Ohhhhh....look at the pretty ES logo. I'll try my local Best Buy and see if I can score one locally. That way there's enough to go around. If not, I'll keep a nice crisp $100 bill on hand for the meet. :D

Thanks, yeah took a gamble and it paid off pretty well. Gotta put a few bucks into them to get them fully functional. If someone at the meet doesn't want them, I may re list them on CL or if nothing else, put together a garage rig. No need for SDA in the garage but for the main listening room, I prefer SDA. I'll keep them until the meet in case anyone is interested in hearing them.

Cool. Let's hope you don't find one so you can buy mine from me lol otherwise I'll end up giving this thing to Eric and buying his AVR off of him!

It's a heck of an AVR, don't think I need it but I want it :p

Fix'em up, and if no one's interested at the meet turn them around to audiogon. I'd hate to see the look on the guy's face whom you bought them when he sees them priced for more on CL haha

So, food list is on Page 9-10 of this thread.

Do we have an updated gear list? I know Norm is bringing several things.

Since I sold my Pio BDP-51FD, I won't be bringing it (shipped) however I'm still bringing Ben's Silver speaker wire and the Sony BDP-1000ES.
