With the time alignment of the new TL series alone I would say they would DESTROY the RM series...

    Time alignment is no joke
The main reason I want to do some AB comparision when the TL3s comes out, afterall better SQ than little more power. Just a deception that Polk didn't take the opportunity to go back with the larger drivers as I am more concerned about the lack of low end in the mid range of the TLs (at least the TL1). The human voice can go down as low as 85 hz so, IMHO any satellite that can not accomplish as low as 80 hz might be doomed to poor HT duty since the LCR should simply reject the lower human frequency and I,m afraid this might might simply be dumped to the subwoofer? If not then lost? Or maybe distortion? I'm not an engineer, just an humble tech but my limited knowledge somehow tells me I wouldn't get the best results if the satellite doesn't go down at least to 80 hz????
The voiced speech of a typical adult male will have a fundamental frequency of from 85 to 155 Hz.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Frequency_range_for_a_male_voice unfortunately, at this time of the night I couldn't find better reference but I know I have some better somewhere. BTW, on page 24 of Polk HT handbook; ''Male vocals should be deep, but never boomy or chesty'' Again, according to Polk HT Handbook, ''The center speaker needs to reproduce sounds from 100 hz and up'' of course the remainder should timber match.
Topper says; wow those older RMs look pretty good
Agreed, IMHO, much better quality and much better looking than the present RMs. There also was a better-greater selection of RMs then. You could upgrade and-or mix some RM30s (which I own 6) http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/specs/recent/rm30/ (not super powerfull but even goes slightly lower in the mid (65 hz) and you could also acquire the towers (RM40s which are kind of an RM30 in a tower casing) http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/specs/recent/rm40t/ or even better the full tower (RM50 which had more drivers and slightly better specs, not enough to make any real difference but...). Unfortunately I could never put my hands on the Towers as I didn't realize that series was phasing out. Neverless, I,m happy I bought those vintage RMs as the RM75, 85 and 95s NEVER appealed to me and there is NO way I would have bought any of them the VM series never appealed to me either. Since I really wanted to settle for satellites for the HT, maybe I would have to move away from Polk.

    Ah! Here's some of the answer I was looking for;
The TL2 distinguishes itself from the more compact TL1 with its use of Polk's patented PowerPort technology; and features ¾" silk dome tweeters and 3-¼" composite injection molded cones with Dynamic Balance Driver Technology. The TL1 Series employ ½" silk dome tweeters, 2-½" long-throw drivers, and tuned satellite and centre channel rear ports.
I wonder what the TL3 will offer over these 2  Any specs available for the TL2 and TL3?

Afterall, maybe they'll also be available in canada before Xmas

It can't be that much more than the TL1 or TL2. I believe tha start price is 79$ each for the TL1 and I guess a little per speakers if you buy a 5 or 5.1 package. When you look at it, there isn't that much difference between the 3, right?

TL3 looks like its using something very similar to the 'sonic engine' theyr using in the upcoming LSiM (ring radiator tweets with their fancy new 3.5" mids). I'm sure its going to be a huge step up over the TL2 which in itself looks like a huge step up over the TL1.

(Cant say for sure but i expect even music to sound spectacular on the TL3)

They set the bar for satellites in my book. Polk hit the ball outta the park here.

Yes, I have heard them and they are equals from my perspective. I have not hear the Focal Dome series and probably won't in the short term so I can't comment on them specifically.

I would believe Mar is busy working on the gear audition project so IMHO, we will more likely see new threads appearing for each individual new products that will be part of the demo project(s), maybe... ;):) Can't wait for people to actually physically see the product and provide their impressions on their dem(s)

Nothing yet since it's still in final development. I know that they...well, gotta hold out for that since I didn't ask ahead of time. The final result is still going thru some minor changes.

I'm just a conduit for this stuff but there is a Blackstone and LSiM demo on the horizon.

No gears can't possibly sound bad driving down that AR Pre even though I don't do tubey thingy.

I am interested to learn if there is any other gear used in the Demo when the LSiM are unveiled to the public?

For the demo....Pioneer Elite as a transport and an external DAC that I fail to recall. The Blackstone stuff was ran off pedestrian gear and sounded equally awesome...comparatively.

As far as the public goes, the in-house demos will vary considerably. What hits the B&M? I have no idea since that hasn't been made formal to me.

I really hope the tower series will be available for in house demo. I got some good toys to play them.

I understand logistics and shipping is potentially a problem for towers to be part of in house demo so I may have to order one. Do I hear discount for polkie early adoption?

Oh, the excitement of owning one.

While you can pre-order, I do not think there is a discount. If there was a discount then a pre-order would make sense. For example, if list price is 4K then a good Internet store would sell them for $3200. That is a worth while pre-order discount.

Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

I think it will be unlike the current LSi series; the distribution and retailers of the new LSiM will be handpicked and selected so I doubt you'll see much of any retailer discounting much from MSRP. There will also be limited supplies for a long time, I guess. Just to make sure they don't flood the market and reduce the MSRP.

We'll see what Polk says anyway.

You cannot pre-order at this time. It's an idea that has been discussed but is not available at this time. I'm not sure where you got your information. I know I mentioned the prospect earlier in the thread but not a definite.

Will there be a discount for pre-order? It's also been talked about and I would expect a positive result, but that's just my opinion.

There will not be a LSiM tower in the demo program. It's too expensive and too expensive to ship. I'm sure that an individual can get the full feeling of the new series with a smaller model, as it's sonically the same thing.

I want a pair of towers BAD Troy....BAD. But I'll probably use a pair of nice stands I have for the bookends instead and may run dual center channels, wireless FX for rear channels, who knows....the idea list is endless.

They are passive, no built-in amplifier.
