If anyone changes there mind on rings for 1.2TLs, I will take them... since I am late to the party again.

Dream on! My rings just left Anchorage Alaska on its way to Shanghai. I had some initial problems with Larry's Export department but after he stepped in and straightened up the staff things are running smooth :D

Just found out when stripping the sides of my 1.2TL's that they were built by the lovely Mollie Jones at Polk. Probably Assembler of the year judging by the exceptional build quality :) The speakers have now traveled a total of 12079 miles from Baltimore-Riyadh-Bangkok-Shanghai. Still in mint condition.

On another matter, how does your McIntosh Mc500s sound with your 1.2TLs?

I've never listened to McIntosh products but continue to hear wonderful things about them.

    Just curious.

Unfortunately I have only had two different amps powering the 1.2TL’s. The first one was a 200 W Denon POA-2800 that kept popping tweeters. It was not a bad amp at normal listening levels but obviously did not have the power reserves and soft clipping like the MC500 for late night duty. What I like with the McIntosh is that it’s built like a tank. There are no compromises and while other companies can squeeze out 500W from half the weight this one need 110 lbs of components. People with more experience than me says it has no sonic signature and due to its weight it's also not equipment you bring over to your friends house and compare to his gear. It drives my 1.2TL’s effortlessly at any volume and when it clips, the sound level is insane but crystal clear. :p

Hi, At lower listing levels, did you notice any tangible difference between the 2800 and your new MC500? Another way to ask, would be...did you notice any sonic signature with the 2800? Thanks for any info.

Dont forget to count me in!

Tweeter brackets and rings for the SDA-SRS 1.2 TLs is what I'm looking for.

It will be awhile as the shop is bursting at the seams with work. I have a project I'm trying to get done for Ben and I told Mark he would be first on the list for rings for his CRS+'s..

In do time but right now I just can't do it..:frown:

a GOOD REASON FOR YA'LL (newbees and ringless SDA owners)to hang around and contribute,,, that way you'll know when the rings become available again,, a "must have" for serious SDA owners.

Hello, I am new to the forum, but just picked up a set of SDA SRS and am interested in getting a set of the rings and tweeter brackets. I called Polk to order some replacement MW6503's and the rep on the phone even suggested looking into this!

I will keep an eye out on this thread, but please let me know when they will be available. Thanks!

Hi AC and welcome to the forum. Look up the mods for these speakers. I am just finishing up, but the improvement in sound quality of my SRS is simply amazing  I did the rings, the XO'r and the tweeters. It is truly hard to describe the improvement. I'll be doing a review once I complete the upgrades.

By the way, you should be getting a 20% discount on the speakers from Polk since you're a CP member.
SDA SRS modded: X’ovrd, de-polyed, inductorized, interconnectorized, re-posted, dynamited, RDO’d, spiked, gasketed, ringed (Larry's), and grill cloth blinged! Done this on my own? Not a chance. Thanks to Raife and all who forged easy to follow upgrades. At least a 100% improvement in sound and my personal listening pleasure! :cheesygrin:Pass XP-10 preamp, Parasound A21 amp, Pioneer Elite DV-58AV (Ric Shultz modded), Audioquest Sky IC's, No longer need my Sunfire sub after mods...

    Dcoil, thanks!

I have been looking at all the mods...lots to do! The ones I got are a little rough cosmetically, but were functional. Going to get them cosmetically sound and go from there with tweets and xover. I did get the 20% discount for the drivers I ordered. Still have to get an amp too....

Don't want to hijack the thread, but just removed side panels and removing the wood strips to replace grill cloth, then remove tops/bottoms (cracks starting down center of both). Strip side panels and finish all wood to match TV console.
