Re: Help identifying these spikes…
One of the things I love about this forum is that we all seem to have bottomless totes of cables, connectors, tubes, components and whatnot. So when the call goes out for something “off the beaten path”, someone digs into one of those totes, or digs to the back of that closet and comes up with the item.
Such was the case for me in this thread. Apparently, I missed a meeting on spikes, because it’s almost impossible to find spikes >1” any more. However, @F1nut dug into his stash and found EXACTLY what I was looking for - a set of 8 custom made, solid brass, 2” spikes. These things probably weigh 1/2lb each, and have a beautiful long taper. In need of a bit of buffing, which I did today in about an hour. Got them installed, and they are perfect. This frees up my other spikes for an amp stand.
Thanks Jesse - you're the best!

Simaudio 680d...
Simaudio builds some of the best gear I have yet heard in the comfort of my home. This DAC/Streamer combo features the MiND2 control app, which is able to pull my computer based audio and streaming services together for seamless playback from a tablet or I-Pad/I-phone app. The ease of use is something a neophyte like me can understand, and it is a beautiful beast to look at.
This condition of this particular 680d is as near to out of the box new as it gets. This particular one is in the seemingly rare all-silver finish and is as beautiful to the eye as the sound is to your ears. It's performance is stunning. Only reason for the sale is an upgrade to the Mcintosh C2800 with a built in DAC module. Though the 680d is superior, I can live with the Mcintosh DA2 module until the newer versions come along.
Looking to get $3500.00 shipped. This is an exceptional piece of gear. For the price, nothing out there comes close.
