I can see why your eval time would have taken so long that's a lot of gear & cables you were swapping out to find that sweet spot.
Luckily for me it's only the amp that I will be evaluating. And being retired & the crazy weather we're having I have nothing but time on my hands.
I'm sure I will be able to put it thru it's paces in both HT & 2 channel within the 30 day in home trial period. If it's not a good fit then back it goes. No restocking fee just return shipping.
Let's see how it goes.

Gotcha. I knew that. I meant are your 10s the early ones also, which "also" have the MW6500 and Peerless. Answer is no. There is most definitely a possibility of having a sub par not up to specs midwoofer, especially with those MW6500 which had minimal voice coil clearance and soft suspensions that can wear out. Do this measurement if you can. You should have about 0.735 in. from the mounting surface plane of the basket flange to the portion of the cone where the dust cap meets the cone. Also look at the spiders and see if they are in the same plane or convex or concave looking.
With the crossover frequency of 3K, all the fundamentals are being produced by the midwoofer and some of the harmonics as well. Polk said they deliberately put the crossover frequency up high like that, to avoid the critical midrange area.

I have a CM III (non-Dark) that I think is a perfect match for my RTA 15TLs. I would have sent it off for the Dark upgrade by now, but just haven’t wanted to deal with the downtime. That is one of the main things that Rogue has going for it … most of their products seem to have a lifetime upgrade path. You can upgrade an original Cronus (pre-Magnum) all the way to the current Dark model.
When I was researching them 3 years ago, I really couldn’t find any negative reviews and after 3 years, I don’t have any complaints, either.

No tube pre at present... Parasound JC2 BP SS pre & old school NewOnTech DAC 07. It should be interesting.
I wasn't super impressed with the Parasound Pre I had. I'm going to guess you will love the AHB2 at first but will eventually flip it and keep the A21+
Also you REALLY need to invest in a tube pre. Difference between the new corvette and a Lear Jet. Just my opinion though so don't beat me up.
I'm very pleased with the JC2 BP pre, sounds excellent to my ears. I did consider a tube pre but opted for the ModWrigh Analog Bridge instead for my "tube" fix. Awesome piece of gear that fits the bill nicely.
I have 30 days to give theAHB2 a thorough workout. If I don't like it compared to the A21+ then back it goes. No restocking fee either. Just return shipping.
I'm looking forward to the comparison.
