Nothing like someone's first post being meaningless information.
I’ve been posting meaningless stuff since my first post.

I have a decent setup for stylus wear inspection, so let me know if you want an evaluation of the original, and/or the replacement stylus wear patches. No charge for inspection...just need coverage for shipping.aprazer402 wrote: »
My 681EEE was handy. I bought it new on Dec. 6, 1977. I bought a replacement Stanton stylus for it around 1980. The original stylus is shown with it's brush on left side in the case. The replacement is still on the cartridge on right.
I was duped back then to believe that a stylus was only good for a few hundred album plays. I've always kept my records and styluses clean.
I had the original stylus examined closely later by a tech and he said it was in great condition.
Yes, you increase tracking force by 1 gram when using the brush. I used the brush for a short time then took it off.
I always liked the sound of this cartridge.

Re: Post a picture.....any picture...part deux...
I got out and enjoyed the afternoon 65* temps and got some blood flowing digging on the side of the barn shed. About 4 wheelbarrows full of dirt. It's beautiful, soft topsoil from 30+ years.
IT WENT PRETTY EASILY TOO.
Some roots got in the way here and there, but I dug about 5' of the 16'. Maybe some more digging tomorrow.
I just remembered...it's supposed to rain tomorrow morn and early afternoon till 3pm. Oh well.
Perhaps I'll go get a new front door unit early in the morning.

Re: Value of my late uncle's vintage Polk Audio Monitor Series 10 speakers, with stands? 80's model, too
Ebay monitor 10's that sold were between $150 to $300.
Realistically expect something between those two numbers.

Re: Thinking about retirement.
You'll be surprised how fast times goes in retirement. A week, a month a year is gone before you know it. I can't believe I'll be 75 this month, it seems only a few years ago I was 60.
The people to me who have problems in retirement are the ones who don't have hobbies and all they do is sit and watch TV. They waste away. It shouldn't be an issue with this crowd.
I agree, time passes faster in retirement then when I was working 65-65+ hours a week. Anyway, I’ve spent 73 years climbing this mountain. Hope to enjoy sitting at the top for as long as possible before the inevitable downhill slide.

Re: CRS+ (2 board vs 1 board) questions.
- I've got the right mids from the second pair of 1C I bought for the Real Wood cabs and spare parts
- Crossovers... I need to find the schematic w/ the TL mod, and a parts list. I'll see what I can dig up. Ugh... I haven't priced caps and such since January...
The CRS+ I got were sooooo wrecked.
I basically bought rough cabs, passives, and a dream.
- Has anyone tried them without the cage over the passives?

Re: Looking for help identifying and dating fathers Polk Audio 10s
Also, take a look at your tweeter route out and look at the gap around the SL1000 tweeter bezel. The SL1000 had a slightly smaller plate than the Peerless. DarqueKnight gave the measurements in his Tale of Five Tweeters epic thread. You can see that yours has a gap around the front plate. Should be about .045 to .050 in. margin around which looks about what you have.

Here's what the route out clearance typically looked like from Polk with the Peerless:
