Re: $15 Monitor 7Cs
Use soft cotton rags to apply and wipe off. Do not use steel wool to apply it and paper towels leave fuzz/fibers.

Yes. The clear will add depth. If desired and after the gel has fully cured, say at least a week, use 0000 steel wool to rub out the finish. This will make the finish look and feel silky smooth. Rub in the direction of the grain using gentle pressure and be mindful of the edges/corners as you don't want to cut through them.
If you have some veneer left over, color and clear coat it to make a rub out practice piece. Rubbing out with steel wool is not hard, but for a first timer a little practice won't hurt.

Touché
In all seriousness, I travel a lot for work - 126 hotel nights last year (not counting late day trips). I enjoy finding new places often, but sometimes, at 7-8 o’clock at night after a 12 hour day, you just want something fairly decent and somewhat quick. Added to that, sometimes I just don’t have the time or energy to find a good place. PLUS, I stay in a lot of SMALL towns - Ely, Elko NV, Vernal, Tooele, Logan UT, numerous small Idaho towns, etc…

SDA SRS 1.2 upgrade from Vr3 Mods....
I just wanted to give the community a review and continued endorsement of Trey (Vr3 Mods). He knocked it out the part again. This is my third crossover purchase from him and it's absolutely amazing. As far as the SDA SRS series, I went with his more entry level upgrade Line Series Crossover Build and it truly is amazing.
I am about to upgrade from an entry level integrated amp to a pre-amp and mono blocks.....but so far, I'm enjoying this crossover upgrade so much that I'm not ready to change those components out yet because I want to relisten to my music just to hear the subtle nuances and how lively the soundstage is.
Please support Trey's business and his expertise, communication, skill, and attention to detail is top notch. It is as if Trey used to be a railroad pocket watch maker in a past life like a 150 years ago or so.

Re: Plasma TV,s
For those stating your plasma is/was a space heater, are/were you running it in torch (vivid) mode?

No joke, I can certainly speak from experience. Our nuns had a metal golden ruler, thick too. You think they broke your hand when they smacked your knuckles. I think todays CIA got much of their torture policies from the Catholic church.

Re: $15 Monitor 7Cs
That’s what it’s looking like after one coat of the gel.
Looking good. A suggestion, unless you want to make the color darker use clear gel for the additional coats. Even if you want to use additional coats of the colored gel it's a good idea for the final coat to be clear.

Re: $15 Monitor 7Cs
@F1nut - Jesse, great finishing tips and knowledge here, as usual. Thanks for sharing. That was a great YouTube link, too.
Hey, what's that wood finishing stuff that you don't leave in used balled up rags sitting next to a pile of tinder in a wood shop?
All of the wiping oils, such as boiled linseed, Watco, etc. You should soak the rags with water, then lay them flat outside to completely dry.
I've never seen oil soaked rags combust, but have heard many horror stories.
