Re: Is it just me, or…
Technology should enhance or improve a customer's experience, not take it way or make it worse. IMNSH curmudgeon's experience.
It's like the difference between a Circle K gas station and a Quick Trip in our area. At the Circle K, there could be two people in line and you are standing there for 10 minutes before you can pay for your goods. Alternatively, there can be 10 or more people in line at a QT and you are walking out the door in less than 2 minutes. The difference? Using technology and processes that move the line along quickly. Both use humans but there is a vast difference between the two experiences. Every. Single. Time.
At least one of the gas station franchises around here has thought of a self checkout. Those are convenient, especially when people take seemingly forever to choose 1 out of 10 different lottery tickets, but the problem is, half of them don't work/malfunction or are out of service.

Re: Mirage SM3?
I believe Mirage was the first Canadian speaker manufacturer to take advantage of the basic loudspeaker research done by the Canadian National Research Counsil (NRC). They did extensive research in acoustics and made the information, free of charge, to Canadian companies. Generally speaking I always found Mirage speakers to be very good sounding.

Re: Has an album transported you back in time?
Music is always connected to memories for me. Some Albums I can't listen to anymore due it.
Absolutely!! For me I even get the sights and scents of the time. Like lilacs in the spring kind of thing.

Re: Plasma TV,s
I haven't used my Pioneer Elite 60 inch Kuro since 2016 when I got the Sony Z9D which I'm still using today ( I want to replace it ). I have been offered many times for people to buy the Pioneer but I'm a little weird about it as when I got it I didn't think I'd ever get one.

Re: Is it just me, or…
It ain't just you. I walked into a Taco Bell the other day. There were 4 men behind the counter, two of them within 3 or 4 feet of me. Yes, I know it says to order on the kiosk. I don't do kiosks. I want a damned human.
Kiosks don't do special requests, special orders and some of the items I want to order require a degree in quantum physics and computer enginnering to try and figure out, if you can even find it at all.
Needless to say, I stood there for about a minute or two, as they were talking about what dates they were going to have on Friday night, none of them said a thing to me at all, but one of them looked at me and then the kiosk sign. I turned around and walked out. It really does feel as if you are an inconvenience. Customer service....it used to mean something in America. Well, it still does to me.

Re: RTI A5 or RT800i for front sound stage
No,
The RTIA series was improved. They have a smoother sound than the older RTi series did. However , the RTi series was also an improvement over the RT series. The RTIA5 is a fine main speaker. Not to mention a better match to your center channel.

Re: Is it just me, or…
It's the new norm for fast food and most fast casual for sure. Dare I say I almost prefer it than to talk to the staff who simply don't care
I don't see it to much in regular sit down spots like ocharley chili's bonefish etc
