Re: Weather at Your House?
Well, it progressively got worse as time marched on (since my post at 5:44am) and we lost power about 2 hours ago, followed by a very large tree in the backyard that simply uprooted.
It has calmed down a bit with the wind, seems like the worst is over. Friends in Greenville SC got hit hard.
2 million people in the SE were without power (according to the news while we still had power) and all surrounding areas within a 20 mile span of me are without power as well.
Sounds like a day where neighbors will be helping neighbors clean up the mess.
Tom

Re: You’re doing it wrong…
We were flying back to Boston from somewhere down south (perhaps Charlotte) with the kids once (quite a few years ago, now). There was a loose plastic ceiling panel on the plane. We sat at the gate for quite a while, waiting for repairs. Eventually a couple of guys got on the plane, looked at the sagging panel and duct taped the seam to hold it to the adjacent trim panel.
The whole economy section broke into applause.
We then just sat there for a while longer. Eventually, a sheepish flight attendant announced that the duct tape fix was deemed inadequate, and we were taken off the plane. We had to hang around the terminal for another good chunk of time until they scrounged up another aircraft for us.

The Alan Parsons Project • Stereotomy
The original vinyl packaging was different from all the reissues: it featured more elaborate artwork of the paper sleeve supplied with a special color-filter oversleeve. When inserted, the over-sleeve filtered some of the colors of the artwork, allowing four different variations (two per side). That was supposed to symbolize visual stereotomy. In the reissues, only one variant remained. The artwork was nominated for Best Album Package at the 29th Annual Grammy Awards.
