Re: Vintage SDA SRS questions
You'll never get the money out of what you put into modifying any piece of audio gear.
Yup. Like classic cars. People will spend year of their time and a tremendous amount of money for restoration and expect to make money on the deal. Do it for the enjoyment and personal satisfaction. Just remember, when you're dead and gone, your kids will trash them then toss them to the curb when they're done with them.

A Fifth of American Adults Can’t Read
48 million adults in the U.S. read at or below the third-grade level. Some educators think it’s not possible to teach them. They’re wrong.

This issue has so many layers to it, none of which will be solved by another “government program”, or “more government funding”.
We are now reaping the fruits of two generations of kids raised in a high percentage of single-parent households. The bulk of these kids were raised by TV, and even worse now, the internet. Further, failing schools have responded by lowering their standards (relax, I’m not blaming all teachers - just the unions and school boards). And to make matters even worse, the schools celebrate mediocrity, for fear of “hurting the children’s feelings” by telling them they are failing.
English class 40-50 years ago was about nouns & verbs, sentence structure, paragraph breaks, punctuation and just plain COMMUNICATION via the English language. Now kids watch the Romeo & Juliet movie, sit while the teacher reads to them, etc.
In short, it’s not about money - it’s about standards, parental involvement and the basics.

Re: Post a picture.....any picture...part deux...
Mother nature reminded me today to keep a very keen eye out...
I about chit in me britches when I was standing about 2 feet away and raked the debris from a bush I had just trimmed away from on top of it. Talk about instant goose bumps! Oi.

Yep, always a surprise when they are under your feet. Ran into the 1st one yesterday.
I usually see at least 6-8 a year near or in my yard. Hate killing anything but if they are next to the house they got to go.
