I have back out after receiving emails from 2 different people wanting to bid on these? I sure will not get in a bidding war with another member. I was only prepared to bid $1800 anyway and that will not come close? Have at it!

Both of you schmucks outbidded me! No biggee, though. I was only hoping for a lucky break for a pair. These are within driving distance for me.

Over $2000 now. Personally I think they would be worth more than that but luckily I don't need them. Good luck nar_navalta if you still bid on them! 5 days still left, hew!

Never in a million years did I think these speakers would hold their value like this. Matt should be proud that these beasts are STILL highly desired. Even 10 years after.

I don't think the TL's deserve this status more than the standard 1.2's. If they were standard 1.2's they would be going for $1600. I'm not putting them down because I think even the standards should go for this much, just making the statement. It is quite a statement that something that costs $3400 new is going for over 2 grand on ebay ten years later. Am I alone here thinking the SDA line offers something you cant get anywhere else? (I know others feel the same way).

No question you are not alone? If you are on a budget, but want audiophile grade speakers large or small, they are hard to beat IMO? I don't think Polk could make, market and sell the SRS 1.2's for less than 8-9 grand today? My little 1C's IMO would sell for better than 3 grand? And the damn things are tough as rocks! Maybe I'm full of it ;) but this is MO?;)

So you have the 1C's??? That is my favorite SDA!
Best of all worlds! What do you power them with?
    madmax

PS: I would like to have a pair of the 1.2TL's just because it would be the "ultimate of the SDA line". I have to wonder though if the 1C's are not truly the ultimate though. I just got through with a listening session of the SDA-SRS with my Jolida tube amps and I am truly in a god-like state at this point. I guess they are all good!

I know you are going to frown, but I use a Yamaha M-85 amp for music 2 channel? I don't have much experience with tubes. I'm on a hillbilly budget! :D I do love the sound of the 1C's. ;)

I realized that I will give other people a chance to own these pristige pieces. I can't believe that these pair of speakers are still highly desired and can hold their value that much.

If I still have a chance to have another one, why not, I'm impressed by the way these pair of speakers are performed. If Polk made by this today I'm sure they will costs more than 10 grand I'm sure...

If you compare to today's new models, whatever the brands, still
    it's a steal for $1,600 to $2,000.

I won't let mine go till the end of the world...

I have always been confused. I though the real hillbillies came from WV like me! I've been to Tennessee and I'm not sure they are real hillbillies! I admit there are some really secluded places but...

    Max,

I have two pairs of 1C's and a pair of 1.2TL's. I love them all! However, the 1C can't touch the 1.2TL's in terms of life-size imaging, bass impact, definition, and clarity.

I will agree, though, that for most listening rooms, the 1C is the more practical choice due to its moderate size.;)

I've seen "standard" 1.2's go on Ebay, Audioreview.com, and Audiogon for over 2 grand.

I paid $2200 for one pair of mine and $1650 for the other pair but within the past year I let another set go for $1200 without bidding on them. I mean, lets face it, two pairs are enough.

You guys think these are worth more than $2100? I've been saving up for a pair of LSi15 and a new amp, but these sure do look tempting... then again, I do need to finish carpeting and painting the theater downstairs ($2500+) and I just spent $1800 on some RTi70's, a CSi40 and a SVS 20-39PCi. :(

...although, CC does have a 30 day return policy on their speakers...

...WAIT! Does anybody know how tall these things are? My basement ceiling is just over 6', I'd hate for them not to fit...

...oh, what shall I do!

Your in luck, Joe! They're only 63 and half inches tall. PLENTY of headroom. Go get 'em. Hope you have a walk in basement.
