I'm doing a finer grit now, and then scotchbrite pad. Then I'll use Mothers diatomaceous. On 360 grade brass, should maintain its luster for a long time.

I went with a full 6" diameter and drilled the cabinet fasteners further out to brace the rear of cabinet that much more.
    These things are heavy.

It's lunch time.Going get myself a chicken bacon sandwich.
    Happy Memorial Day friends...

Ivan, I have some old machined 360 brass part offs and it hasn't oxidized much. The alloy is almost like day one from years ago...The OG shop speakers have taken a lickin' no doubt. Still jazzin'....

Ok, well a few other options are lacquer for brass or Renaissance wax

Edit: If you use the spray lacquer be sure to clean the brass first with a degreasing agent.

Ill check out the wax. Once I settle on patina matched to RDO plates. Will do face operation next.

Looks like it has an embossed surface like the BH5? Is it adhesive backed?

The 3/4 sonic barrier is actually a very good product. The 1/2 and the one larger is missing the layers that make the 3/4 a stand out.

The adhesive on the sonic barrier line is terrible though, I always apply power grab to the back if I'm using that

Guess I should have said back-to-back, as a layer of 1/8" butyl mat will be sandwiched between the two opposing layers and suspended in center of cabinets.

1/8" thick PVA foam spray glued to 1/8" thick dense felt for the @Gardenstater foam frame mod. Will cut to 1.25" x 1.25" squares. This will make positioning easy with Powergrab....

Wish they used same glue on their magnets... Heat gun on low and slow blade peel. Luckily didn't tear them....

Each driver gets the 3 extra tabs cut off and terminals bent upward away from windows, with downward fastons removed....and superglue to lock the tabs tight. Haven't ran into a driver yet that were snug...

Looks great! Will the lower conductivity of the brass be a factor in the shorting ring effect of the phase plug? Or will the eddy currents not be affected all that much, it being such a large chunk of metal? I know it is too late but it might've been cool to press on a ring of copper at the base, where it wouldn't even be visible.

Also, although probably not the look you want here, this could be another option that is now possible, that isn't possible with aluminum:

The brass will illicit less eddy currents than the alloy for sure. Will it matter? Not sure. But the real unknown (for me) right now is if the alloy focus ring/brass plug will exhibit the same excellent cone control behavior that the alloy ring and alloy plug do.
I'll do a tone sweep on the bench, but that's free-air. Mounted in the enclosure is propper to see the behavior.

I have all summer to experiment. I'm more excited to hear these back-chambered RDOs in the CRS+. Why Polk didn't add this feature, like they did to the SL3000's was a serious faux pax.
