What's your limit on Speakers?

    Right now I am planning my next pair of speakers to be a pair of L600s ( which seem difficult to find) or a pair of SDA 2Bs or 3Cs. After a crossover upgrade on these would be my price limit. As far as non Polk speakers go, I would say Focal Aria Evo used or Usher Dancer mini 1 used of course.

    I just moved a pair of L600s, in the boxes, to my house from my dad’s estate. Along with a bunch of other gear. Looking forward to getting it setup and being able to spend some quality time listening. This will be my secondary system located in my office.

    Shoot, you think audio is expensive, bikes and parts are nasty crazy. Bike tires almost the price if a car tire as an example

    I use to work for a bike store back in 1982. I assembled bikes , made wheel repairs and sold them off the floor. I also was way into BMX back then and Gary Turner was a big deal back then. We also had a local track and a concrete curl for trick and the track was dirt racing. I had several GT bikes back then. Pro Performer, Mach 1 , I had the very first Pink Mach 1 when they hit the market. I had a Freestyle all GT bikes.

    GT bikes isn't completely out of business, but to call it a shell of what it once was is an understatement.

    It's sad. I used to drool over the Zaskar in the 90's...

    Thankfully, you're spoiled for choice these days; Specialized, Transition, Trek, Santa Cruz, Ibis, Revel, Raaw...

    My Transition Smuggler is just a silly good bike, mind-blowingly good if you're coming from a 2004'ish bike.

    It's a hard pill to swallow when you spend $600+ on brakes for a MTB and really see what you're getting... :D :'(

    Well, I guess, $8100. I still can't believe I spent that, but, they gave me $900 off on the speakers and $900 off on integrated, (all new in box). I am retiring this year and it is my "lifetime" system.

    Home stereo gear yields the same irony as musical instruments: the older I get, the more $ I can afford to spend...but the worse I can hear/play to enjoy the equipment. That said, I have amassed a total of 9 Polk speakers over the years (see sig), almost all of which see daily use. I have attended a couple of (high-end) A/V shows since moving to Florida, and have actually seen/heard speakers that I would consider buying, but can't justify $20k+ (per pair) for speakers...so I continue to enjoy my (vintage) Polk Monitors.

    The Monolith duelund 1.2 ‘s give an enormous multi layered fluid 3d holographic image , the lower micro dynamics disappear into total darkness , I love the leading tonal edge to everything, it has such an organic natural depth that give absolute non fatigue listening ,these duelund caps truely touch my soul !
