I've got everything audio related in my system getting it's power from the Shunyata now and the improvement was not as dramatic as it was when I hooked up the Mcintosh.

In addition to everything in my signature, I also have my pc plugged into it. My amps are still plugged directly into the wall.

In my experience, if one is expecting a night and day difference one will likely be disappointed. It's more subtle.

    Agree, it's subtle, but noticeable.

This is what I am expecting, when I first started this hobby, and started using a Monster/Panamax/Furman. they were subtle, except with the TV, that is where it really shined IMO..

Nonetheless, I have been using this Panamax for many years now in my 2 channel set-up, I would assume/hope I will notice a difference between what I have coming, and the Panamax.. B)

I have been wanting the Panamax to go a long time ago, but something else to upgrade made more sense at the time.

Either way I will be glad to see it go..

I was not expecting night and day either. The improvement.provided by the Shunyata is subtle, but cumulative. By that I mean that everything sounds just a bit cleaner, vocals instrument separation, soundstage… improved slightly, but taken as a whole presentation, once you have stopped focusing on trying to hear something different, the totality of the improvement becomes more apparent

Why not try one of the Puritan power products while you're at it? Upscale Audio has a generous trial/return policy.

If you have an emi tester watch what happens to the 120 leg you plug your pc into and switch it on. Now that is a dramatic difference and even moreso when measuring the power coming out of the back of the conditioner.

Oh, I thought you knew? 😉

A mint condition AQ 7000, with a Brand New AQ 1.5m Dragon. It was overall more than I wanted to spend, but I got both for less than what a AQ 7000 would have cost me brand new. Don’t think I could have found a better deal for such a beast of a unit.

I’m now trying to figure out what I can do to give my shelf a little extra strength to hold the weight a little better to ease my mind. 🤓

You are in for a treat. It’s a great combination. Heavy as hell so get ready to move it. You will never look back at conditioners again. Although I feel like additional power cables may be in your future.

I had a local wood worker build me a maple and walnut shelf to my specifications. Great investment, and highly recommended.

I don't see Puritan Audio Labs stuff on Upscale Audio's site. Did you mean Jaguar Audio?

I spoke with Darren at Jaguar yesterday. He's pretty knowledgeable about the Puritan products. He really stressed the 100 hour break-in that is recommended on their (Jaguar's) website. Said that is primarily for the power cable. I should have clarified if that was from the time it is first plugged in (~4 days) or if it is total listening time, which might be butting up against their 45-day trial period.

The "NFR" version is the one with the upgraded Furutech sockets (sans dust covers) and includes the upgraded power cable and Furutech connectors on it, but man, they really get a premium for that. $7,500 vs. $2,700 for the base PSM156.

Oops, I did mean Jaguar Audio... sorry about that. I plugged a space heater into my conditioner during the break-in period in order to get some serious amperage flowing B)
