When I was 13, I went to charm school with a cat named "Crusty Dweller" and I don't think he would appreciate being denigrated in such a manner. Good day.

Glad you saw that. Yes, most of us are crusty forum dwellers. It wasn't name calling, but an observation of people who are outside of the demographic that matters to the recording industry or the marketing for the Superbowl.

About 75% of people aged 18-34 watch the Super Bowl and just over half (54%) of viewers are men.

But the NFL isn’t just a young person’s game. More than 60% of adults aged 65+ tuned in to the Super Bowl as well.

Not a TS fan either, but I find it funny that people get mad at HER because the TV cameras show her so much. It’s not like she’s asking for it. She’d probably prefer to just watch the game without having cameras on her.

Two things can be true at once - she can be a (somewhat) self-made billionaire, AND she can be an auto-tuned celebrity (and not a musician).

She has her niche, and she makes a ton of money off it, nobody has a problem with that. Thing is, as with most celebrities in music or film, they get to a point where they believe their influence matters greatly. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, just as long as they believe it does. I don't think I have to say it, but most are pretty tired of celebrity opinions on anything, especially politics. So if you want to throw your hat in that ring, you have to expect the downsides as well and the critics who will come out of the woodwork. Being a celebrity doesn't make you immune to it.

Well, you started it. You should be able to say when it ends. ;)

oversite...you took my post off of this thread about real facts about TS and why she got booed at the Super Bowl.

Oversite, listen to the original poster and take it all OFF!

Somebody else can open a new NFL thread later in the year.

    Wait, what?

This thread is circling the drain and the NFL is a juggernaut that is dwarfing every other sport. I don't agree with your comparison.

Perhaps you need a new mirror...🤔

Being the fastest car in the junkyard is nothing to brag about. True, the NFL isn’t down as much as the NBA or MLB…. Yet. Sunday afternoon viewership was down 3% last year, and Monday night was down 14%. Things are getting so bad that networks are dumping the NFL, forcing it to streaming platforms (which most fans hate, due to the fact that it’s so hard to switch between games). Further, the NFL keeps tinkering with the game, eliminating what fans loved about if fo generations. Gone are the days of exciting hits, bitter rivalries and thrilling comebacks…Added to all that, younger generations are showing little interest in sports - indeed, legacy sports are one, maybe two generations away from complete irrelevance.

The networks moving games to streaming is because they are following the trend of people "cutting the cord" and not paying the ridiculous prices for cable/satellite TV. It also doesn't allow people to skip commercials like DVRs do.
Switching between games? YouTube TV has a four in one screen option, and that's only option to get Sunday Ticket now. It's designed for watching multiple games. Again, they are following the trends.
If anything is going to be irrelevant in one or two generations, it is the old concept of having a cable TV bill monthly.

What will become irrelevant in a generation or two are us baby boomers. And the world will be a much better place when this happens.

And the NFL will still be around.

Don't count on that. Current ATSC1.0 is set to sunset in a few years. The new ATSC3.0 is a complete mess currently with respect to DRM and the audio decoding. The tuner manufacturers have to spend a lot more to get the certifications so that stifles the small companies from making products. Things aren't looking well for its widespread adaptation.
There is also a good chance that the government will continue to auction off the frequencies that have traditionally been for TV. We have already lost almost 200MHz of bandwidth since the 1980s and the current FCC head will likely give up more to the wireless providers.
I'm also a primary OTA user, but I'm a little worried about the future of it. I've had Tivo products for many years, but they are not likely to make an ATSC3.0 product. The current HD Homerun ATSC3.0 tuner doesn't work with the DRM. 3 out of 4 channels in my area have DRM.
Most of the stand alone 3.0 tuners don't allow network playback or recording. They only work with the TV they are connected to (HDMI output only).
Thousands of people sent comments to the FCC to discourage the DRM, but it has been completely ignored.
