    Hardly a white Christmas but.................

    In a rare Christmas meteorological event, sleet and light snowflakes fell across areas of Rockledge, Viera, Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach this morning, the National Weather Service reported.

    Scott Kelly, a meteorologist at the NWS Melbourne station, said he believes this is the first confirmed report of frozen precipitation falling in Brevard County since a January 2010 cold snap.

    The initial report of sleet on the Space Coast was logged by NWS at 9:55 a.m., Kelly said. What happened? A small band of precipitation formed over Osceola and central Brevard counties.

    Fwiw we had a green Xmas and new year. It didn't really snow until this week. First dump was 15cm then rain. Snow blower could hardly move the stuff. Took 1.5 hours to do a 2.5 car wide and 2car deep driveway. Next day it froze. Last night, and this morning another 15-20cms but this time it's lite fluffy snow. I've read some parts of Canada are in a deep freeze -50c with the wind -43 to -46 with out. Thankfully that's not us.

    Maine has had lots of rain. Crazy warm temps. 30's in day. Single digits at night & when we think it's gonna snow it warms up to 34-40 degrees. Crazy windy rainy little snow here n there. I'd be pissed if I just bought a new snowsled

    The strong north wind last night created new drifts. My driveway needs another clearing. I may wait until tomorrow, no hurry, I'm staying put.

    Has anyone else had this? I'm not a Starbuck's coffee fan, but this is good. Very rich cocoa taste. What I like about it is it's not overly sweet, just cocoa flavor.
    A 30 oz. tin is about $10.00 at Costco. I first tried this about 2-3 years ago. I saw it again recently and grabbed one.

    10.5 inches on Tuesday 16 inches last night 30-50 mph winds blows that 26.5 inches around pretty good had to dig me ol Bigfoot shiloute out of one the many drifts in the yard. -12 windchills tonight with a high of 2 above with -35 wind chills tommorow should be able to go safely ice fishing in a few days.
