Expect that there will be bumps in the road. Choose to not let them rattle you.

The problem here was not enough speed.
    Or too much speed.
    Both, likely.

Not to mention possibly too much of two different kinds of speed.

You know, I was (as is likely clear from earlier posts) thinking about this at some length.
I realized that this is the kind of day that the accident investigation team dreams about.

It’s also the type of accident the driver likely gets to live to tell the tale. A little faster or slower, maybe not so lucky.

A friend of mine hit an embankment like that at a high rate of drunken speed. He launched and landed 70yards from take off, landed at the front door of a house......He never made it AND luckily didn't kill any of the house occupants. Accident reconstionist estimated the speed in excess of 100 mph.

Yeah, that'd be incredibly jarring just to hit as a ramp. It feels rough enough pulling into a drive apron that's not well transitioned from the street.

Yoiks. A dude we were in the AF with did something similar in his new Camaro at the time. Flying around the road coming back to the base back gate after being out one weekend night, and lost control around a tight turn. It was one of those situations where the roadway was elevated, and the house lower and set back onto the property. He was going so fast when he left the road that he just sort of transitioned to the roof of the house when he landed.

I don't recall whether anyone was in the home, but I don't think anyone was killed. He crossed over into the oncoming lane briefly as this happened.

Hmmm ... it looks like some of the glass roof is missing from when he fell through it before. May be why he has the board propping the ladder up this time. If at first you don't succeed ...

Is it coupled or decoupled? I say decoupled, assuming tires are sand-filled. :)

Yeow that's wrong on all levels. No doubt some of those people have broken limbs, backs necks etc. and the bystanders are grabbing them and pulling them. That's about the worst thing to do after a serious accident
