Here is my what my car with push buttons looked like. Same color and everything. It was given to me in 1961 or 1962. I've posted the picture previously. Wish I had it now. It was nothing but trouble. 1957 Dodge.

My parents had a two-toned (yellow & black?!) '57 Plymouth convertible (and, yes, avec pushbutton A/T). The '57 Plymouths were legendarily horrible cars. According to Curbside Classics take on the marque, the inexorable slide of Plymouth began with the '57s.

I didn't know the Dodge'ms shared that much genetic material with the Plymouths that year (although I am not surprised). :#

It is a pretty car, though. That's a great color scheme!
The yellow & black Plymouth was -- pretty hideous.
I'll have to see if I can dig up a photo of it.

That was first and only time I have seen a Painted Bunting. Lucky to get the photo.

They were way overpriced and underpowered. My '88 was almost $30,000 on the sticker. That is the reason they didn't sell many of them in the four years they were produced. They were a car ahead of their time. It has a touch screen in the center of the dash that controls the HVAC, radio and trip computer. Unheard of in those days.

@TennMan - Didn't an Oldsmobile with almost the same body style have the touch screen as well? I can't recall what the model was (it wasn't the Toronado) but I do remember seeing them BITD. (Around 1987/'88, IIRC)

I stand erected......er, uh.....corrected. Apparently, it was the Toronado. Specifically select Toronado Trofeo's.

....and yes, back then? This was pretty high falutin' stuff in a vehicle.

Yeah, I had forgot about those. Never saw one before. The same year Riviera had the touch screen too but they built on the same platform as the Reatta with the addition of a back seat and a different body.

Wasn't the Reatta built on the same platform as the Cadillac Allante?
