No wonder the methyolaid hurt like hell for me. I later found out I was allergic to iodine. I can see both of them in the family medicine cabinet.
And mercury; in the high school chemistry lab, we always put mercury on our silver coins.
Other chemicals in those days that were fun included yellow phosphorus:

My last visit to Monmarte was about 10 years ago. I've been to Paris twice since then but I haven't made it up to Monmarte. The experience of the view, walking the curvy, cobblestone streets, past little shops that circle Sacre Coeur is such a unique cultural experience. Some pics from my last visit to Monmarte:

My favorite thing to do in Paris is to walk from the Arc de Triophe down the Champs Elysees to Place de la Concorde. Stopping to have a beverage in a bistro and people watch. Maybe have a fancy French pastry or a baguette. From Concorde walk through the Tuileries Garden past the Louve (that is a day visit) all the way down to Notre Dame and the Left Bank. Here are some photos that sort of follow that path:

My last visit to Paris was just six months prior to the tragic fire that could have destroyed the Cathedral. For me these pictures are haunting as it would be the last time I saw Notre Dame in it's original glory.

The fire was started as workers were removing these bronze statues from the roof of the Cathedral. The famous spire of Notre Dame was lost in the fire.

It's rare to see photos that have another aspect besides the primary target.
Shopping on eBay, sometimes a seller will put a coke can beside the item being auctioned for size comparison. I smile inside when I see ads like that.Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
