Here's a nice photo of a seldom seen Denon DH-710 tape deck that has a very good reputation for sound quality.

Zoe, our dog has a very high prey drive. If the kitten takes off a cross the room she is in pursuit. We have had to get onto her a few times. Other than that is is very gentle with him.
Beautiful dog

Well -- that's an obscure deck (at least, to US eyes).
It looks very purposeful.
The transport looks kind of TEAC-y (or, perhaps more accurately, TASCAM-y).

Never understood why they called it "BUFF".

It's definitely big.
you don't think it's ugly?
I mean, it is purposeful.
BPFF would be hard to pronounce -- unless you're Bill the Cat.

Here's a photo of Magic Johnson enjoying his music (record handling aside). -
Figured he was a ReVox man
EDIT: Nice Nak cassette deck, too!
Oh -- and I am guessing, seeing that 'dome' on the dustcover, that maybe that's an early SL-1200 he's gonna spin that disk upon...

2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.
Other; M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.
The best way to predict the future is to invent it.
It is imperative that we recognize that an opinion is not a fact.

My mom expressed interest in having a stereo after seeing the beautiful garbage picked Fisher reciever.
Built some prototype speaker stands for some JBL Arena 130 i had layin' around for the Fisher Rig.

The deck is a B77, I wonder what the component on the upper right hand shelf is. I think that's a Warner Brothers label on the record.
-
No idea, although there appears to be a Mac tuner under it.
Maybe an MR-80?
(the other three pieces of Mac equipment are pretty self-evident)
Yes, late 1970s WB label, indeed.

Here's a listening room with three Studer A-820 decks.

Here's a photo of the three turntables.

Really, what the hell is that stuff?

This Steve Hoffman mastered single pointed out stark differences between speakers and amps tonight....
....but very little audible difference between the headphone amp in the ma9000 vs. Rs-1022.
Both using the ma9000's phono stage.
🤔very interesting -

(sort of) Apropos of the picture above: My son & his (fairly) new wife recently bought a townhouse in the DC suburbs. It is pretty clear that they are now officially settled in, judging by this photo he sent us yesterday.
That is in the kitchen.

" I wonder what the component on the upper right hand shelf is."
It appears to be a dbx 20/20. -
I ordered some hard to find transistors from Little Diode (really good company) in England and in tracking the Royal Mail the package has reached their hub in Langley near Heathrow air terminal so I looked to see what the facility looks like. Here's a photo:

^^^ I think I see the Ark of the Covenant down in the lower right.

Or, maybe Rosebud?
