I like number seven. What breed, if a separate breed? Limited feline knowledge here. Possibly the same breed as 2,3 & 5? Just guessing by the wavy lines on top of the head between the ears. -

meanwhile, from back in the days (1968, in this case) when the vacuum tube hifi components were cheap and in low demand, since everyone was clamoring for that smooth, cool, hum-free, instant-on transistor sound.

Yeah, so I have just today learned -- it just struck me as funny that a minivan (especially such an unusual specimen of an old minivan) was licensed as a truck -

McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2 ‘XV401 / I’ by Alan Wilson, on Flickr
a sad looking Phantom -- but looks like she's bein' restored, slowly but surely.
The photographer has some amazing photos from (mostly British) warbird museums. The Brits take their vintage aircraft for good reason, methinks -- were it not for British (and American) aircraft, the Brits would, umm, not be speaking English in 2020 AD.
Although, I suppose, some would argue that many of them don't really speak English anyway...

oh. come to think of it, @afterburnt's XB-70 photos remind me of a string of photos posted by BWI Airport (Baltimore, hon) on their Flikr account.
Sabreliner Move by Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, on Flickr
Moving a vintage ex-military/Westinghouse (aerospace) Sabreliner from the erstwhile Westinghouse (now Lockheed Martin derp, Northrop Grumman, I can't keep my military-industrial complexes straight!) plant right next to the airport to some exhibition site (EDIT: National Electronics Museum).
I am not sure they stopped at the Mickey-D's, but maybe?
EDIT: I think that's West Nursery Road in the photo... maybe Hammonds Ferry Road(?)

That reminded me of an article I read on the Beeb recently.

The Spitfire went after the German fighter escort while the Hurricanes went after the bombers. Team effort.

So did I, but it's nice to see the "Hurry" getting some acknowledgement. A good friend of my Dad's flew Wellington bombers, another plane which never gets a mention as the Lancaster gets all the plaudits. -

The Splendid and the Vile is a good read.
