Custom Power Cords

I received my new SVS PB16-Ultras yesterday as many know. My question is, who makes decent power cords for a decent price. Reason I ask is SVS sent a 6' 14 gauge power cord and due to the placement of my subs I could really use a 8' power cord. Trying not to break the bank here, just payed for the subs themselves, lol! Any help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated?

Signal cable would be hard to beat price wise
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Wasn't even sure if SC was still in business or not. The 4' power cords used on my old SVS's were SC power cables. I'll have to check them out again!

Or make your own from raw cable and male end from a local HD, Menards or Lowes. You would need to buy the IEC end off the internet.

I second this suggestion. Have a couple of Patrick's cords. Hard to beat for the money. They are also nice & flexible which is a plus in my book.

I made some power cords similar to the unshielded type-2 without the separate hose. I used 12 ga milspec PTFE conductors twisted together, an oppositely twisted ground and a set of Sonarquest plugs. I am not sure how they rate against higher end cables but their was definitely a difference compared to the cheap stock cables. If you are DIY on a budget I will recommend Sonarquest plugs. They don't have the heaviest plastic parts but they use pure copper connectors with solid connections where it matters. And they are only $20 shipped. I bought a couple from this guy. I offered $36 for 2 pairs and he accepted the bid.

A friend has high praise for the Sonarquest silver-plated plugs he uses on his power cable builds. I prefer the sound of gold, but either way the Sonarquest plugs are a great value. And Chris VenHaus' power cable recipes are the bomb.
