Just up the road from me. It was an old established place when I came here 35 years ago.
Had a couple of them but they were just like any other dog to me. I don't do chili and onions/slaw though. :| People I've been with ordered 2 or 3 for themselves. :D:p

Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Oh, trust me. The wife knew about that joint when I got home. I have told MANY a person about it. If you are within a hundred miles or so, it will be worth your time to make a pit stop.

It ain't your typical joint! Guy would love it.

F1 posted about this place before. I told my brother in Silver Spring it's one place we need to go when I visit him.

We use to have a local place called George's Burgers. One is Oceanside, San Marcos and Escondido. Best burgers till the early 80's. I loved going there for a burger and a real shake. Something happened that dropped the quality. The one in Oceanside is still there but it's not what it use to be.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

I spent a good chunk of yesterday going through boxes full of stuff from past jobs. Managed to throw away two document-sized boxes' worth of ephemera -- I got pretty ruthless in culling old documents (at least, by my own packrat standards).

Found a few bits of memorable memorabilia, of which I'll share two here and now.
These are two of my babies from my postdoc days -- built a career with these instruments (and some other, generally similar ones) in the laboratory of Professor Y.C. Lee (to whom I am ever grateful).
