I can’t wait to see how big he gets after the radiation mutates all of us! I’m going to make a saddle out of human remains and ride this guy into the sunset! I will feel like a child and it will be my fondest memory until my skin falls off...

Friendship International Airport (Now BWI/Thurgood Marshall) as I remember it best.
Spent many happy Sunday afternoons roaming around inside and out (one could do that in those long-ago days, even out onto the tarmac on the general aviation side) with my father. We lived about four miles from the airport terminal.

Friendship had an outdoor observation deck -- the sights, sounds, and smells (jet fuel, baby!) of an airport, to me, is unforgettable.

In and around Lake George, New York, there were many great amusement parks. Some are long gone, some still there.

No, just damage to the original image :p It does look kind of portentious, though, doesn't it?

This is actually a better representation of Friendship (BAL) as I remember it best (early 1970s), with some jetways already installed for the Big Boy airlines (TWA, United, American, Eastern, and - of course - Pan Am).

FatBoys Drive-in. Ive been going here for over 50 years & now with my family. It's right across from the old Brunswick Naval Air Station in Brunswick Maine. My mother & father use to go there in the 50 & 60's when they were dating. My father would show his old Ford & Chevy hot rods on Sock Hop night. It was fun. Many memories. c424k9bdkbq2.jpg

Banbury Place where Uniroyal made tires also in Eau Claire, WI. It was abandoned by the time I was in High School. Rode bike by it all the time on the way to a good friends house.

Not an actual photo of, but I got lessons in goaltending on this ice from Jimmy Craig, and a lifetime of "Herbies" courtesy of Herb Brooks himself.... Also stopped a slapshot from Neil Broten

Orlando Florida. My Dad did the interior finish sometime in the late 50's or early 60's. I was back a few years ago and the interior was the same, except maybe a few more layers of grease on the walls. They closed the restaurant a year or two ago and went to just a food truck.

This is east Carlsbad CA in the very early 70's right behind our house. When the farmers were done they would pull the stakes then it was a free for all. My mom would can a ton of it last for 6 months.

Behind is Lake Calaveras and the cliff. We would fish in the lake for bluegill, swim in it when it was hot. The cliff was our shooting range. A mile behind the cliff was Carlsbad raceway. It was a fun hike to go see the motocross or drag races.
