    Large debt🤪
Yea I don't know, but what I do know is our BB is a shell of what it was. If it wasn't for phones and computers I doubt they'd still be in our city. They ditched music media years ago and barely have any 4k or Blu-ray media at all. Lots of TV's are sold there I guess also. Barely any audio stuff and it is all bottom of the ladder.

Price matching Amazon and online ordering/delivery/in store pickup.

  • Sure that’s part of it nightfall, but actually eliminating overhead. Have you noticed the designated spots for brands like Samsung, Sony, apple etc. well the manufacturers pay for those spots. Furthermore the manufacturers actually also hire people to work there. So Best Buy doesn’t pay as much for square footage or employees.

What high gloss cabinets? The LSiM cabinets are a satin sheen with real wood veneer. The cherry color is applied mixed in the finish to give a uniform appearance. The midnight mahogany is a black toner applied over the cherry color.

The black ash version comes with a gloss black baffle. The walnut version comes with a matte black baffle.

Yes, the subjectivity of speaker selection. Once you find your sound you may not like the available finishes. Just think about the tough decisions designers, manufactures go though regarding finishes... especially if only a couple will be offered.

Gloss finishes may not suite all tastes and not work with all decors. However, a high quality gloss finish mated with the right decor can have a very upscale appearance when done right.

The LSI line was never meant to be at a business like fry’s. Frys was able to persuade Polk into it and then you saw the issues that resulted from having speakers never intended to be run on receivers getting paired with entry level AVR’s.

I saw that first hand. Sales guy told my coworker any AVR would work. Guy got a cheap Sony from work and cooked it in like a week. Then he went for a ES model, last I knew it was still going.

Fry's is in some type of death roll, still open but stores are empty. Sad to see,

After viewing the specs on the Legends, I myself wouldn't put them on an AVR at least not the L800 or L600. They look like they need a nice big amp backed by a 20a circuit.

When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

I could live with a glossy black Steinway -- if I had to ;)

(the ones I've actually spent some quality time listening to have had a satiny finish, FWIW)

I (still) think the loudspeakers in the photos above still look cheezy. nouveau riche.
That said, of course, de gustibus non est disputandum.

Do you guys know and understand just how Best Buy has weathered the storm of disappearing retailers?

We talked about this in a marketing class in college. Best Buy embraced the fact that they are essentially a showroom for people to purchase things online. Next time you're in a best buy, take note of the amount of space that is dedicated towards branded displays. Windows/Surface, Mac, Samsung phones, every cell phone carrier, Samsung TVs, Sony TVs, Samsung Washer/Stove/Fridge, Kenwood, Nest, Ring, etc etc etc. Magnolia is actually staffed separately and is somewhat of it's own company leasing space from Best Buy to get in on join sales with TVs.

All those companies pay a premium for dedicated floor space at a much higher rate than other stores. Best Buy has made up for a drop in sales by basically becoming a staff showroom for a few key brands who lease their floor space. Once you take away all the least floor space, Best Buy is actually a really small store of stuff that Best Buy actually keeps track of.

From what I'm seeing at Best Buy lately, it won't be long. They are looking similar to Circuit City before they went down. Hopefully it is just my local stores and the chain will survive.

The HK photos show gloss bezels but the release photos are a matt finish. I think the matt finish looks classier on these speakers.

Actually, for some investors: Best Buy's Turnaround Is One for the Ages. Similar stories are unfolding at Target and Walmart, in fact, offering same day pick-up in store, and next day or two day shipping without the need for a membership (Amazon Prime).
