I still have the original boxes for my 2.3TL's. The giant plastic bags too. Supplemented by several pieces of rigid foamboard of various thicknesses.

Do they stock boxes if you needed some? I would think they are boxed in China and just dispersed from there. Maybe I'm wrong.

No if I have a problem with my Polk speakers I'll just take it to them.. I do still have my Oppo, AVR and Amp box.

I think the question concerns what you do when you want to sell them...boxes are both easier to ship meaning you can sell them for more potentially and increase the value even in the instance of a local sale.

I agree with that. I never really sold speakers so I've never given it thought. Sold my RTi to a friend and that's about it.

I'm loving the 705's, it will be hard for me to afford something better.

I just listened to Pink Floyd wish you were here on SACD... eeerrr ogh ugh. The CSiA6 just totally was out of wack. Went to AFD from Pure which engages Audyssey and still yuck yuck. The 705's are so warm and mellow then there is this bright in the face center. Tried a few other SACD all the same yuck. The CSiA6 did well in movies but going to multi channel, epic fail.

Need the 704c to go on sale again. I would like to get the 706C wife said no way am I building another stand.

WOW! Wake up and what do I see...

Before I spent any more money I pulled out the TSX250C. A little better but not that great. I was going to try the S35 but that is perfect in the bedroom.

I told the wife and I got the evil no, no more new speakers. Then she gave me the line If I build a new stand you'll be sorry be sorry. Oh no she knows I want the 706. Last time her mom moved in when she said "you'll be sorry",

I have enough of my fun money and just ordered the 704C

The CSiA6 worked great on movies in this setup, 100% different direction in music. It was just a bright in the face harshness totally drowning out the 705's. I did turn it down by -3db helped a bit but still too bright and quiet.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

  • Nothing wrong with the 704; I think it’s the right speaker for the 705s.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. I received the 704C today, Nice heavy speaker for it's size.

Unboxed it and inspected it. Clean not a scratch. Hooked it up and played a few minutes of some tunes in all channel while I cut the boxes up for the bin. Ran Audyssey 6 point, house was dead quiet. Audyssey said it was out of phase as with my left speaker again. Hit "ignore" and carried on. Played some movie trailers then put on Dire Straights Brothers in arms, seamless matched perfect sweet. I let it play for the last 3 hours and it kept getting better.

Here is the 704C, doesn't look that funny
    641030hl294s.jpg

Here is the S30, with the S60, Looks a tad funny small speaker in the big opening
    og0tp7sk2p7z.jpg

CSiA6 is the perfect fit. but it's an oh man in your face center
    0o22mjqhskkt.jpg

I also checked out a movie for a tad. Way different than the CSiA6. Laid back and mellow like the 705's

As for Audyssey saying my left and center are out of phase, I'm just going to ignore it. Bass keeps increasing with these out of phase warnings. With my Signatures Audyssey would set the sub out of phase. I think it has to do with the room layout and the hall going around to back of the kitchen.

Nice, Loren! That's not a bad fit at all. Just get some viking figurines to stick in there! (be sure to Sorbothane their feet)

I had the same sense when testing Signature Series against LSiM for TV - slight preference for Signatures since they seem a little more detailed. For my personal listening preferences for 2ch, I like the LSiM. They're not awful for TV, though.

The S30 is a good center, it did well with SACD and not bad with movies as with the rest of the Signature line. It was too small for the space.

CSiA6 matched the S60 great in movies and did well with SACD playback. Nice speaker that filled the custom space I made for it.

Toss the 705's in the mix the CSiA6 was still great in movies but toss in a SACD and EPIC fail, it was just gross.

704C from the few hours I've had with it is seamless. It's not in the face like the A6 which is great on SACD and does go with movie voice very well. It was like it just disappeared blending in. That is what matching is all about.

My experience so far with the LSiM are very favorable. Outstanding on music and hold their own on movies. Like my wife said they have a big sound to them. For her to comment on my sound system is highly unusual.

@cfrizz at these prices you might want to rethink getting a set, they are awesome.
