Hello,

Thought I'd start a new thread for those of us who have received their LSiM's from the Blowout/Closeout @ Adorama.

Received my 705 this morning @ 10am. All double boxed in good shape. I had them unboxed and playing by 11. Sweet heavy speaker, looks nice and sounds good.

Here they are all hooked up playing some Rush. You can also see my center speaker problem. just a little too small for a 706C but a 704C would look funny in there like the S30 did.

7najf18apd9u.jpg

I played a CD @ -30DB before I ran Audyssey. During Audyssey it came up with left speaker out of phase. I made sure the wiring was correct and hit ignore, completed the 6 point setup.

First thing I noticed from these, I no longer have any sub localization at all. I left the speakers at large and set the C/O @ 60hz. I then played Peter Gabriel SO, good bass test. I did the DB test on the sub, before Audyssey would set it out of phase, now the sub is at 0.

Sub phase 0 I got 74db, sub phase 180 67db, Ok goodie. So I was getting sub out of phase with the S60 now it's the left speaker. Errr nothing easy.

Play some more tunes and wow nice smooth very balanced speaker that looks great. I left a Beatles Greatest hits CD playing in a loop @ -35db when I had to go do the Honey do's. Came back 3 hours later already getting better. I still have them playing in a loop.

I will wait till I get 50 or so hours on them before I run Audyssey again. The left out of phase has me a little bothered, but it sounds good.

@cfrizz was right about these might be too heavy for someone. S60 I could move easy, these when I unloaded from the UPS truck was like pressing a printer,

Oh and I love how in low light the look black, open the blinds getting some light on them and they have that nice coffee tint.

When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Very nice! Nice cabinet build as well. I've been building my own cabinets for a few years.

    A few side notes

Tip my hat to Adorama, the serial numbers are in order 3108 & 3107

I cut up the cardboard to toss in the dumpsters at work. Almost fill the trunk of my Optima with just cardboard, I had to bag some of the foam and put it in the back seat.

When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Looks great, and don’t worry about the out of phase reading, it’s typical with Audyssey and the like. Check the polarity and move on.

I got mine this afternoon, you're right about them being heavy. I haven't run YPAO on my 2070 yet as I was going to wait till next week and they are broken in more.

Compared to my S55's, bass, mid bass and highs are much better and a smoother and a fuller sound, more lifelike and a wider sound stage. I have my speakers set to small and C/O @ 60hz. Needless to say my 704 blends better with the 705's than it did with my S55's. I listened to all types of music, Rock, Country, Motown, Pop and Soul for 3 to 4 hours.

I look forward to getting them completely broken in and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I'll take pictures tomorrow and post them.

April Wine Nature of the Beast, Harder Faster and Power Play were in steady rotation on my tape deck in the 80's. Saw them at a small venue in Boise, ID, in the 90's. Double billed w/Blue Oyster Cult. Nice lads and they signed my CD cover of Nature of the Beast. Here's a great song @mrloren that deserves a listen on the Advents....and LSiM's...If You See Kay!:blush:

if Polk is coming out with a new line replacing the LSiM then there should be one or two more sales on these.

The CSiA6 does blend in decently enough.

    Time for another movie.
