I'm in Puyallup, @Geoff4rfc is in Tacoma, @WagnerRC is in Fox Island. Probably others as well, even more up north. Love to get my ears on the new offerings but I don't have anything that will power a 4ohm speaker properly. Maybe someone local does...

I'd make a road trip that direction for a NW Polk meet. My BHK amp is too heavy to travel but I could bring the BHK Signature Pre, DirectStream DAC and a modded Parasound HCA-1500A. The 1500 has no problems w/4 ohm. @ken brydson you game to host? My daughter lives near Rogers HS.

That could work, I'm like a mile from Rogers.

I can meet anyone on the list in the NOVA/ D.C. area to reduce the time these speakers spend with a shipping company.

That's precisely why you should be "IN" on this, to see how they perform with average/entry level equipment.

The AR-3 was considered a bookshelf loudspeaker -- and houses were smaller in the 1950s (not counting tiny houses, of course).

    Maybe books were larger then?

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant
