Those are a steal at those prices! WOW. I love PSB sound.

That center channel was expensive when new!

This is STILL available, but I need to caution anyone here from buying it!!! They plugged it in without making ALL the connections first. This effectively messes up the logic circuits inside and shuts down the output sections. This one will have to go back to Pass labs for a refresh and service before it can be used.

Last year I really enjoyed the Pass room. They had some of their amps broke down in pieces to pick up and handle VERY COOL stuff. LOTS of large chunks of aluminum.

I think Pass gear is just about as good as you can get, particularly on the used market. I doubt I would have stopped searching for gear had I not taken a chance on Pass Labs. I cannot get over just how good they sound with my tube amps. Nothing else even comes close to what I am hearing right now.

It’s at a pawn shop that knows what it sold for new, and I doubt they gave the guy even a grand for it. With it having troubles and my being able to show them why it needs to go back to Pass for work, I am thinking I could get it done for 20 percent above their cost... maybe no more than 1500 bucks.

Hehe. John just gave me some good advice and contact information. I also went to the PASS website and read the owner's manual where it says in bold that you must make all the connections from the pre-amp to the power supply before turning it on!

No way to verify if the seller did not do that, although the pics show that they are connected. Big risk, IMO. Still noodling this, but may be worth a drive down to Naperville. Not that far from my hometown in Lockport, IL., where I plan to visit on Saturday!

If you look at the very first picture in the listing, you will see clearly that one of the required cables is laying on the counter and not connected to the preamp. It is off on the far right, 1/3rd of the way down. NOW if you go to his add, you will see ALL his pictures have changed to show the cables plugged in! I guess we had a good connection after all and he hung up on me after I stared asking about the cables... Also, if you look at the tiny blue power lights on the L/R chassis', you will see that they are off in the first pic and on in the second one. Proof positive the guy screwed up and that he is trying to be shady about it.

As of now, I would not even darken his doorstep with my shadow, much less actually go in the place.

Some people hate it Big Time when you point out a mistake or flaw.

I'm open to judgement or advice I believe and will try to learn from it.

That pawn shop person seems to shut out advice. Sad!
