@ZLTFUL those tripple 8's are sweet! A friend of mine has 3 for his front stage. Sounds incredible for home theater.

Another 2-channel system upstairs. Open space helps taming the bass of LSI-25 quite a bit. To open up the upper range of those vifa tweeters, I use solid copper with silver coating RCA interconnects.

Thanks to halo for starting this thread, HNY to all, I love looking at people's set ups.
Regular viewers will recall I used to have a but* ugly 6ft high metal shelf unit, now I have but* ugly 3ft high metal shelf unit.
Sneaking in a question, pretty sure I reconnected all the components same as they were, only difference I used XLR cables balanced output from the 851D into the P5 vs Morpheus Ref Series II RCA. Would that cable change reduce the volume to the listener sitting same distance, same angle, same toe. I have plenty of power, seems I am having to turn up the volume, or I'm getting deafer..as always wit & wisdom appreciated.

Are those pieces truly balanced or so they simply have balanced connections? Are the new XLR cables the same brand/level of the RCA cables they replaced?

Thanks F1, the XLR cables are cheaper, cables.com I believe. Gonna switch back to the RCA's thinking I'll hear a difference-suspect sounds may be tinnier with the XLRs. Nf no worries, my son dropped off his Xb so I stashed it. Gonna tidy up soon, I only play NfS on Ps4 no other games.

The Parasound combo looks so slick. Never heard the P5 but it looks so nice with the A21. I have had my eyes on the P5 for a while.

I bought XLR cable from chromaleaf. You may want to check them out. Their XLR cables use Canare/Mogami/Sommer terminated with Neutrik. Decent price too.

I can't answer about the Rogue, but my first encounter with the Dyn's was the S1.4 and a Primaluna Integrated. The combo produced a very holographic sound, I've been hooked on Dyns ever since.

Ok, usually the XLR output will be higher than the RCA. That said, any real benefit from using XLR cables is negated if the circuits in the gear are not truly balanced. I seriously doubt the Cambridge is and I'd be surprised if the Parasound is.

Glenn, I didn't have the opportunity to get an ear on any Salk's. I was also kinda bummed about the 3-4 month lead time on getting a pair built.

I did make the trip to a Dynaudio Dealer and auditioned the new Contour 30's (the new replacement for the 3.4's) and was very impressed with their presentation and their tone.

The new Contours are exceptional in every way, but at a price, one that I couldn't afford. So, I opted for a NOS pair of the S 34 LE's instead. The Dyn's literally disappear, and throw a very realistic stage.

Paired with the M-180's the 3.4's are revealing without being bright or fatiguing in any way, detailed yet smooth as Buttah. I love the Dyn sound and will enjoy them for some time to come!

I learned something today which is always a good thing.

I assumed if a unit had xlr out/inputs it was balanced. So @F1nut, how does one determine if a unit is truly balanced?

Read the literature and if the answer isn't there, ask the manufacturer. You're looking for the term fully balanced.

Thank you gj, very pleased with the A21, P5 is great for analog (not digital), I use the 851 as a DAC into the P5. F1 and/or tonyb guided to Pre-amp enjoyment.
My but* ugly shelves (that I love) combine 2 channel & HT components, little messy but very efficient for viewing & listening.

I find that I like the built-in DAC in the P5 but that could be the synergy in my setup. I tried out the Rotel RDD-1580 DAC in my setup and I actually preferred the DAC in the P5.
