Worth it I am sure, he has close to $500+ in tweeters alone. After that I can only imagine the internal mods.Just a dude doing dude-ly things

Is that a new high asking price for a set of 1.2tl's?
$3665.00 ?
I remember good sets going for 2K just a year or two ago. -
Now I can see the value. If they had the Monastery Crossovers in them. I would be on the road right now.

No affiliation ... any advice on what to offer after a listen? Do these belong to anyone here?
1986 ... not the biamp 1987.
They do not appear to be selling on eBay at $700 - $1200.
Thanks,

I believe those are his father's speakers. I know he had a pair years ago that he tried to sell for a premium price.Political Correctness'.........defined

The SRS 2s for $699 are mine. Completely updated and sounding superb and very little interest. One inquiry. I'd offer maybe $800 ?

Agree. They were $1,400 (incl tax) new back in 1987 when I bought mine. I'd say at least $1500 high. Also, you'd have to spend another $400 for tweeters. -

Cost of living out there is much more......rolling eyes
I found a set of RTA11's and the guy said he had to have 600.00 for the pair. He was none too happy when I laughed in his face. For some reason a lot of folks think these are like fine wine and they appreciate with age. I offered him what I thought was fair 150.00 but he had just bought a set of Dynaudio speakers and he thought I was going to help him pay those Dyn's off his CC.

I can't tell how many times I've responded to CL ads more than once and never get a return reply. The one time I did I couldn't get off the phone fast enough. Then the guy hounds me for several days insulting and belittling me like that was going to make me throw cash his way.... -

This is very true. Most people barely let you their houses and the transaction usually done in garage, mudroom or Florida room w/ it's own entrance. Then you get the one like I did when I bought my Rectilinerar Low Boys. The dude invited me in to his house and then his basement to oogle at all his gear then wanted for me to stay for dinner w/ the wife and kids and I had to say no, I'm going to hit all kinds of traffic and then I have unload the bulky 80lb speakers in the dark.

I just picked up a pair of these last night off of offer up. $30.00 and he threw in two cheap receivers. I'll probably re-sell the receivers to recoup the cost. -

Or instead sell them to me for $30, sell the receivers and profit :P.
Awesome deal!
I'm jealous.
