    You're losing valuable "break-in" time.

Connect it to your system. Tune to a radio station or play a bass-ey CD on repeat. Set volume low enough (whatever) adjusting up/down whenever until "life gets out of the way."

I had it playing at low volumes off and on for days. Cd was on repeat and only the sub was on. It does sound better and louder after a week of this

Arggg, second one showed up a few days ago and I haven't even had a chance to play around with thr placement and settings of just one sub! Last week the time I could have spent testing I had to waste trying to revive my laptop which I ultimately just ended up cloning the harddrive to retrieve the newest REW data and doing a fresh install of osx. To top it off, once that was done, I couldn't find spl meter...it had fallen into laundry hamper! And that was the end of my free time to test over the last few weeks.

Just unboxed my second PB13. One tip that sped things up for me when unboxing which most of you already probably know, but I did it inefficient way first time. Flip box over on to top side. Open the bottom of the box. Now remove any papers and open bottom of second box as well. Spread all the flaps open and then flip box so bottom on the floor. Pull up on the shipping box and the shipping box, inner box and the cardboard piece with foam on top side of sub will all slide off at the same time. First time around I remove the shipping box first and then opened the inner box which requires a lot of flipping the box around and in the case of the pb13 ultra, some effort.

I just got done reading through the email from SVS.
Looks like it's an OK sub, but probably very low WAF.
Plus there's the extra expense of having your walls and floors reinforced.

    ;)
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Reading the manual, I love this part, describing using the Volume setting of the subwoofer:

"Setting the level too high will cause the bass to seem bloated and is the single most common cause of bad sounding subwoofers. A rule of thumb is that the subwoofer should not draw attention to itself, but should simply make the systems low end seem more extended and accurate. Different content has different levels of output so adjust volume based on source material and your personal preference."

The subwoofer is two feet high and 30 inches long, weighing 1.5 polkfarmboys....it's going to draw attention to itself visually if not sonically. I get the point, but an ironic way of making it.

    Sig material there ^^ LOL.

Just for sh*ts and giggles, I measured my PB12-NSD/2, and this new one is pretty much the same size? Except it outweighs mine by about 50lbs. :open_mouth:

No way for the PB13 not to draw attention to itself! I used to think the lsim705 looked big! Now I need a bigger tv or projector to make sure everything is proportional lol.

If your SVS is <1yr old you can trade in. If older, they are working on a trade in program that they are going to announce soon.

Dang! Mine are 1.5 years old. :disappointed: Hopefully it's a good trade-in program because coming up with 5 bills for a pair of them takes some time. Not seeing the usual 10% discount when you buy two in the checkout screen....
