Sure, it's nice to be able to kick back, drink some beers, and laugh with friends on Sundays, but elsewhere in American communities there are funerals on Sundays and underlying social issues that make the sort of escape from reality you all seek utterly impossible. Some NFL players acknowledge that and think maybe making a difference starts with more people realizing there's a problem plaguing America within its borders as well as outside. The issues they are raising don't take a break for Sunday, after all.

    Is that so bad? No one said you have to agree with the statement, but it seems odd to sanction people for exercising their right to make a statement. Plus it's a bad look, I think, as it seems to outsiders like Americans are just too damn busy watching their gladiatorial head-busting version of football to care about the petty issues of police corruption and the subversion of societal trust in its less affluent communities.

    I'm sure there aren't many Husker fans here. The Husker's beat the Oregon Ducks in a great football game this afternoon. Oregon is a better team than their No. 22 ranking. They have a great quarterback and their team speed is phenomenal. Lincoln is a tough place to play. It was very loud today. Go Husker's!!! 3-0 heading into the Big 10 schedule. :)
