ok, here is a list of hotels that are very close by...

    http://www.carolinaicepalace.com/Lodging/

    My picks would be:

    Holiday Inn Express
    7670 Northwoods Blvd
    843-553-1600
    North Charleston SC

    Hampton Inn
    7424 Northside Dr 843-820-2030
    North Charleston SC

    Fairfield Inn
    7415 Northside Dr 843-572-6677
    North Charleston SC

The Motel 6 is ok and cheap from what I hear (for the budget traveler)

    STAY AWAY FROM:

    Super 8
    Howard Johnson
    La Quinta

Any of the others should be ok.....me, personally, I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express.

All of these hotels are close to my house, particularly the ones that I have recommended at the top......

If you have any specific questions, lemme know.

For those that demand top flight, try The Mill House in the heart of the trendy/historic downtown district. VERY nice digs.

I was enjoying my stay there a few years back when Wendi showed up and ruined my whole day. She brought Troy with her, that's how.

Hey, SOMEONE had to keep a leash on Big Flo. She was wanting some George Grand...

I was sorta hoping that someone would stay at the Embassy Suites so we could crash the open bar.

    Let's see, Pi X R squared, carry the 9, divide by 12................

OHHHHHHH MY GOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDD!! It's come full circle to bite me in the **** hasn't it? You knew this all along you phony. You've been trying to get me down there so that Big Flo could get her hands on.................

    OHHHHHHHHH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!

Was Wendi part of this? I am never double dating with you and Wendi and your mother-in-law again. I'm glad you managed to keep your food down during that meal knowing what you knew. YOU call yourself a friend. Okay. This is war. Next thing I sell you blows and takes your house with it.

...add the two, carry the zero.

    Here is the real equation

    2xGeorge = .75 Big Flo

Hey, I was there keeping her honest. You should be THANKING me. Had I NOT been there, I don't even want to THINK about the possibilities.

    I had your back, meng.

We're only a short month away!!!

I've only got 10 days left in the desert!!!!!!!!!!

    WOO-HOOO!

Soon as I get back, I'll send out directions and phone numbers etc to attendees.

Looking forward to this guys, shaping up to be a world class event.

Oh, one thing I DID want to mention, if you have them, you may want to consider bringing one of those folding canvas chairs. Seats are about the only thing that I can think of that might be in short supply.

    "I got your back meng."

So I got you boning me from the back while Big Flo makes a play for Little Willy from the front? Thanks.

Just for that I'm not packing up and moving out until you're on the damn airplane. I was going to leave this week sometime. Get the smell of Brylcreme out the house. Now I hope it gags you when you walk in.

Had I not been there...there wouldn't have been any play at all. Big Flo would have just taken what she wanted.

    BlueMDPicker....

you ought to consider joining the Maryland caravan on down here.

I'm SOO excited, this is shaping up to be a premo event.

Also, DEMO material. Don't forget, bring what you want to listen to. (except rap, deathmetal...that type of crap). SACD's would be cool as Doro is bringing his SACD player. I DO have a turntable, if that's your thing as well.

Just to give you and idea of what I have for demo material.....

I have about, oh, 15 or so Telarc jazz and classical CD's. Some really good stuff. I have quite a bit of classic rock, some jazz. Not much 'new' stuff, to be honest. So, again, bring what you like.

    Troy,

Charleston is a great city. I've spent quite a bit of time there on business over the years (my organization has a training facility on Oscar Johnson Drive), and my wife and I have had some memorable times there as well.

I'm sure the Polkfest is going to be a blast. But, I can't make it to this one. Thanks for the invite, though, and y'all have a monkey bowl of gravy for me.

I certainly will! If you're ever in the Baltimore/DC area give me a holler.

BTW - Are you a native South Carolinian? Not a loaded question. We have always been super impressed with the warmth, hospitality and MANNERS of the people we've met in our travels there. A welcome change to the FOAD attitude prevalant farther north. :D

Man, I wish I were on that list. I HAVE to work though. I need a different job. Life is just too short to miss this sort of thing. Bad part is I get no real benifit for being the dedicated worker I am other than a swift kick in the **** at review, raise or boneus time.

Maybe next year I'll get my priorities straight...
