    Just for the record, despite the fact that the Tascam CD player was "in stock" at the time of me placing the order, J&R called me Friday morning and told me they've ran out of players.

    Order it for $69 and try it out. (I think the sale is over though).

    Resell it on Craigslist if you don't like it. It's not the first or last speaker to use a crossoverless design. The problem is not the full range drivers, the problem is the tweeter with no crossover. That's asking for harsh treble.
