    APRIL FOOLS!!!

Yup, lotta gullible folks around here. Jesse, Mike, Roy, Leroy along with a few others nailed it. Thanks for playing. :D:p

The rig was playing for me as I typed this post. In fact, I enjoyed it all day yesterday after I got off work. I have a security system, added security, retired neighbors that are watchful eye dogs that know to call the cops as soon as they see anybody around the house that they don't know. If they pass all those, they get to meet my not so friendly to strangers dog. Though I am still always worried, I think I fear fire more so than theft.

That said, the folks that posted in this thread BEFORE this post have unknowingly entered themselves into a Polk Audio Karma. This part is not an April Fools Joke. I have......

Chesky Records - Guide to Critical listening - CD
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue - SACD
Andy Warhol / The Velvet Underground and Nico - Deluxe Edition 2-disc CD
I'll announce the winner sometime today and let my son draw the winners name out of a hat. Oh yeah, I almost forgot....:p :p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

You are a giant **** Tom!!! You should give each and every one of us a copy of all three!!!!:p:D

Glad it was a joke but you twisted my gut up and you SHALL PAY!!! Muhuhaaa!

    I'll throw in a couple SACD's myself.....

Dave Brubeck Quartet....Take Five not a hybrid onlyplays on SACD players
Diana Krall...The Girl in the Other Room......hybrid.....and tasty!:D

Over all, boys and girls, whilst playing this ruse, it was evident that there are many here who were willing to step up and chip in some help.
That, in and of itself, shows the great character and caring of this Polk..Hell.. AUDIO family that exists here. If someone is in a pinch alot of y'all come out and help. Be it sound, health, family, most will jump right in.
That is why I like this place.

    Thanks for playing, chumps!
    I love you all.....(sniffsniff)......except Drew.

Ted, even if I wasn't "in the know", I still would have driven 1000 miles just to make sure Tom and the family were OK. Sorry we insulted you.

Dude, April Fools jokes are supposed to be light hearted and funny. Robbery is not funny at all, especially for those of us who have been robbed. Reading your post really shook me up. I felt so bad for you. All day, I kept going back to the thread to see if there were any updates. When I got home last night, I had told my wife about it and even started going through my extra gear to see if there was something I could offer you. Not cool at all. I know you have offered the Karma, but please take my name out. I don't want any part of it.

I agree. I don't see how its any different than calling a loved one and telling them you are dying in the hospital.

But apparently most people here think it's funny. Call me a fuddy duddy, I won't try to ruin the party. :o

I get the distinct impression the "karma" evolved after a couple people watched all the heartfelt responses, then thought long and hard about just how dumb the entire affair was. Should've given it more thought in the early stages.

That's just what we needed here anyway. More child's play.

Agreed...............and while I admit that I may have a "different" sense of humor, I see nothing funny about this thread.

What was the point anyway? Have people worry about you for a few hours and start organizing ways to help you? Then say, "Gotcha!" Hilaruious man - that is comedy gold.

Actually, I knew before I made the post exactly how I wanted to do it and how I wanted it to go down. I knew it would upset some people and I also knew it would get some people. I also knew that some people wouldn't fall for it and that regardless of what went down, there would be a karma.

What I didn't know was that Russ would be adding more to the Karma and that some people would get so bent out of shape over an April Fool's day hoax. I think someone here has already said it best....."those people need to know in advance that I don't give a sh#t."

Some of you need to lighten up a bit.

Nothing like calling the people who didn't get it and were truly affected....basically fools. Regardless of the actual day, I believe that folks had enough respect for you to take your word for it Treitz3. That would have been a sad thing to hear coming from any Polkie.

WWaldecker lost everything he owned in a fire a couple years ago and the sense of community here and elsewhere, quickly got him setup with a great donated audio rig. I sure hope the next person who has a life changing event, that this could've been, will get some help instead of being ignored.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
