I'm inclined to believe that a good chunk of the unintended acceleration ARE true claims.

The majority of the people saying that they couldn't stop or shot off the car or shift into neutral? Utter BS.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

The whole point behind "neutral" is that none of the power given to the motor is translated to the axle and tires. If people switched into neutral and were still accelerating, then there is something much bigger going on.

Does anyone find it the least bit odd that the TV media has been completely silent on the Sikes incident? For several days now all they've reported is that this guys Prius was a "runaway" even though there's more holes in his story than a piece of swiss cheese! The only place to find the facts are in the print media or on the web..why is that?

I wonder if in the end this turns out like the Audi 5000 hysteria in the 80's in which most all of the cases of SUA turned out to be driver error? Everyone is ready to throw Toyota under the bus without so much as a single bit of evidence that points to an electrical or computer problem.
