Thanks. Here's another view of it that shows a little more. It's not really full width of the back of the house because the house extends further to left in this picture than we can see. But it is full width of that section of the house. We're located at the top of a ridge with an awesome view out the back of the valley below and Tussey Mountain and Mt. Nittany off in the distance.

I want those 7's to replace my 55's (these would go in my shop).

Going strong for 5 or 6 years now.

    IcedPolks.jpg

This picture is 'inspirational' since that's what WOULD happen to these speakers outside of my house yearly. Again, I'm in China till the end of July so I have to excuse myself from something I could definitely use. And the only photo I have is of the demolition of our pool last summer...the speakers would've gone on the other side of the tractor.

Carry on..I'll be back into it all soon?

    Aye!

Not for my house (I have enough Atirum's to keep me happy for the outside right now) but for my Brother's. He is in bad need of upgraded outdoor speakers, but like most, short on the fundage. I have been trying to upgrade his setup, but its slow going. Anyway right now he is using some old vintage 70's looking bookshelf speakers (not intended for outdoor use) mounted under the rear patio (pics forthcoming). I gave him some rock speakers last year that I wasn't using and they were a significant upgrade. What I would like to do is to replace the old mounted speakers with some decent mountable Polk Atriums. If we do that kind of upgrade I'll provide him with the necessary source/amp he might need.

The one issue with the rock speakers is because of where they had to be located, they are not setup near the gathering area, so they have to crank the volume higher for casual listening-potentially disturbing the neighbors. Higher than they would if they had them mounted closer to the gathering area.

I asked him to send me a pic so I can post it here-I should have that before the deadline. If he snoozes, then I'll post my own pic and I'd mount them in my bathroom. ;)

    Awesome Karma!
    Thanks

AYE! We moved into our new house last November so I have my first place to install outdoor speakers. I'll put them in each corner so we can enjoy them while grilling and eating out there.

jmwest1970. If I were you I would keep the speakers out of the corners and maybe center them above the windows. MHO YMMV.

AYE, since my goal is to eventually have sound anywhere in the home controlled by a single system, I always have an immediate use for speakers.

I would love to update the speakers in the garage. Never wanted to spend much due the the cold/heat/moisture problems. Atrium's would be perfect.

One of our next home projects will be installing a much larger deck, and of course, more sound.

I'm really thinking about centered over the outer window and not in the actual corner. WAF is a concern so I want them to be as unobtrusive as possible.

It can, with one simple rule. My wife is not allowed to put anything in the garage except her car!

When I built it three years ago, I noticed that all my neighbors had two or three car garages, that didn't have room left for a single car. Decided that wasn't going to happen here.

AYE! I'll trudge through the leftover snow in the backyard today after work and take a few pics of the back of my house where they would be mounted. They would be great for all of our backyard BBQs and volleyball games. Gotta get out there tonight to get the pics though, we are supposed to be hit with another 6-12" of snow tonight/tomorrow!

As you can see below, all I need is a nice pair of Polks to hang on the end of these lonely wires and I can start enjoying sweet tunes while sipping a cold beverage or cooking up some tasty steaks.

    They'll sound good with my Polk LS 90's, RTi6's, CS350, CSi3, CS400i, FX1000's, and AB755's.
