Polk Audio Atrium Giveaway

****CLOSED****

The winners were BlueMDpicker, Maximillian, Toxis and Jimkellyfan.

A few members here recently had the opportunity to demo some of the NEW Atrium series loudspeakers at their home. Since that's wrapped up, thanks guys!, I'm giving a few pairs away.

I'm not positive exactly what I'll be giving away other than it will be a few pairs and not the Atrium 8SDI. So take a look at the new:

Atrium7
Atrium6
Atrium5
Atrium4

Requirement: Say "AYE". You must have an immediate use for them and post a picture(s) of the intended install location within the thread. A kitchen or bathroom is most certainly an accepted location.

Don't post that you'll do it later unless you're serious. I will only count folks with photos for the drawing. Read closely as I said a FEW pairs, which means you have multiple chances of winning folks.

Furthermore, post a picture of them actually installed so we can all be jealous. I understand that it may have to wait due to weather or otherwise, just try and do it over the summer. Fair?

If you already own Polk outdoor speakers feel free to post a picture of your awesome taste in loudspeakers. If you've owned Atriums before, you'll LOVE the new SpeedLock mounting bracket!

The Karma ends 3/1/2010.

Here's some verbage on the new lineup:

■Broad coverage baffle design, adapted and applied from our current Atrium design but with subtle improvements in the new Atrium Series. You want to fill a large open outdoor space with big, full-range sound, The new Atrium Series has a more steeply-angled baffle design that maximizes critical mid- and high-frequency dispersion over a large area, without sacrificing the detail.
■Polk Audio All-Weather Certified, Atrium Series speakers exceed baseline industrial and military specifications for environmental endurance (ASTM D5894-UV Salt Fog, Mil Standard 810 Immersion, Mil-Std 883 Method 1009.8 for salt and corrosion.) Certification means Atrium Speakers can effortlessly withstand the worst Mother Nature can dish out, whether its extreme temps or heavy rains. With Certification like this, your kitchen or bathroom installation is a cakewalk for Polk Audio All-Weather speakers.
■Durable, mineral-filled polypropylene cabinet design, with molded-in bracing, sounds like a real speaker (not "an outdoor speaker"), and survives years of seasonal changes, for truly great sound, no matter what the weather.
■Patented Dynamic Balance and Klippel Optimization technologies ensure the perfect material performance, eliminating driver and tweeter "artifacts" for more realistic sound reproduction at high and low volume levels.
■Aluminum grilles and bracket, with stainless steel and brass hardware: No rust. Ever.
■Gold-plated 5-way binding posts for the most secure, dependable hookups.
■Available in durable, weatherproof black or white paintable finishes.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I've been meaning to buy all weather speakers to install them in my bathroom.
Would that qualify as an install location for this karma?

I don't see why not, as it's certainly an enviroment that these loudspeakers were designed for.

Aye. Do you want pics with me naked in the bathroom or will pics of my bathroom wall suffice?

Very cool karma!!! I'm definitely in on this one.

I'll get some pics tomorrow(since my backyard is kind of dark right now).

Once this snow crap melts, I'm going to be putting together a little campfire pit in my back yard, with some nice lawn chairs etc. It should be a great place to chill out and play some guitar...some outdoor speakers would be fantastic. I hadn't been planning on putting any out there, but that was mainly due to financial reasons. This would be great!

I'd be using them with my Onkyo 606's Zone 2 outputs.

Like I said...I'll get pictures tomorrow, but bear in mind that this backyard project hasn't really begun yet, and there's a bunch of stuff back there...lol

I'll have to take the photo tomorrow and add in as it would be going into my buddies garage for our "man room" set up out there but it would work perfectly! And seeing its dark and he would question why I'm opening his garage at like 1 in the morning. btw can these stay out in the cold and not be damaged at all. I'm in WI and they would probably be mounted on the inside part of the garage so out of the elements but its get so cold I just worry about things cracking.

    LOL and absolutely.

Polk's Atrium Series speakers meet or exceed military specifications for environmental endurance. The tests have coded names like "ASTM D5894-UV Salt Fog," "Mil standard 810 Immersion" and "Mil standard 883 Method 1009 8 for salt and corrosion." But passing them means that Atrium speakers can withstand some of the worst that Mother Nature can dish out. In addition, stainless steel, brass and aluminum hardware ensures years of rustproof reliability.

I believe Jimmydep accidentally froze one speaker into a solid block of ice and upon thawing out, it worked and sounded like new.

I have a great spot for the Atrium, up and under the eaves, perfectly between the sliding doors, up and under, as seen best from picture D completed room.

Inside that room is already rocking by Polk Audio ( from front left corner of house in the living room ), but outside that room is in much need of replacement rock speakers, that would be better suited as unhooked and donated to the Salvation Army.

    "AYE" please.

Immediate location would be for a pair above the back patio. Who says the kids can't appreciate some Polks while playing outside? Then, hopefully this summer, we'll be adding a 230 sqft master addition/remodel off that back corner of the house. Maybe another pair will need to show up after that.

Toxis - It's the new line only. I have a Atrium8SDI which replaces the 65SDI but didn't think the majority would be interested in a single, plus its kinda the odd man out. If you agree to fulfill the requirements for the karma, since you mentioned it first, you just won an Atrium8. How's that sound?

Aye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a year long camping spot and I have been thinking that a pair of speakers would really piss off the neighbors so I am in on this one. I would need a few days to go out and take a few pics of the spot so I will get that done as soon as possible. BTW great Karma bro.
