Only time will tell, but I will have a great digital source heavyweight shootout coming soon!!!:D I have a weeks leave coming up with the holidays so it will be Grand. A 55lb Esoteric is supposed to be at my door today.

Hi-Fi Sand vs Hi-Fi Tube

yea baby.......damm I love 2ch audio. I especially love those days large heavy boxes with audio stuff appear, early xmas for me, only prob. I am wiped for audio funds till next year......and I will need to let go of some more nice things at all price ranges.

Watch for some RT1 specials in the near future as some good stuff has got to go to pay for some good stuff I bought.

Kinda sounds like a Rabbit Hole......with circles.......

I've heard an Esoteric SACD/CD player but I don't think it was up to snuff with the kw. I never did get to hear a side by side test but I understand your kw dilemma and think you've made a wise decision.

    Joe,

The Kw is supposed to be back next week in time for xmas, all primed, pimped, and ready to rock, Michael though has intrigued me with his reports on his Esoteric with his ARC gear, so I gotta know, you hear me, I just gotta know........you never know, till you know, I might keep both........anyway I am top heavy with all kinds of sources right now except TT's.

Congrats Ted! The Esoteric CD /SACD Players can be an ecstasy in the Audio Chain.

I take it you don't want to reveal the model till it arrives yet.

Buy a single use disposable camera and take some pictures, RT1!

Considering how hard Fremer has pushed vinyl, it's no surprise. Although, I'd bet he was surprised by SACD's showing.

Yeah, good sound vs bad, milliseconds of genius Mark, thanks for the input. The old guys lean towards the MF gear because the top end is SO forward, they can actually hear it. What sucks is I'm 37, and holding - no MF yet.... :)

Remember that pure Esoteric rig we rocked at Alexis Park, in what, '06? That, and the VLM setup (that we made the room stand still with the Ben Harper CD vs Vinyl shootout) still wakes me up in the middle of the night just thinking about it. How that didn't get written up, I'll never know. Audio peeps were leaving the obscene McIntosh and Dali rooms just see what the deal was.

SACD? Ha freakin ha ha ha. Give me a proper $3 clearance redbook with a tube back end, and a used Meridian anyday.

    Cheers,

Both are excellant players, regardless. For me though, you have to have tubes somewhere in the chain. Digital still hasn't been able to put that air around the instruments, that depth to the notes, that only tubes can. This will be a very interesting shoot out, Ted doesn't do anything half ****.
